I left the room, closing the door behind me. I went into Izzy’s room, where she and Cubby were sitting, waiting for me. When I came in they both rushed forwards and hugged me, pinning my arms to my sides.
                                                                                “Uh, guys,” I said, “ I can't breathe.”
They let go.
“Sorry,” Izzy said, “I’m just so happy!”                                 “I am too,” I assured her.
I felt kind of awkward though, with them staring up at me.                                                                              I said, “Why don't we go and visit Skully? I haven't seen him for ages.”                                                             “A month,” agreed Izzy.                                          “That's a lot longer than last time,” I said, smiling.

This time, all three of us went to see Skully. We explained to him what had happened, each of us telling parts of the story. When we had finished, he sat on his perch silently, not knowing what to say.

“I know it's a lot to take in,” I said, “I only found out today as well.” After a while, he said,                                                “I got a letter from Peter, yesterday that he sent last week. He's coming to visit tomorrow.”                                         “Tomorrow?” Cubby said, “but, we won't be here!”                       “ No.” Izzy said firmly, “ Peter is one of our closest friends. We will definitely be here.”                                                “Yes,” I agreed, “We can't miss Peter.”                                 “I guess I'll see you tomorrow then,” Skully said, smiling as best a parrot could.
