Darkness unleashed

A looming darkness

After some time of joking about Zoe left the Taylor's house and went back home

She entered the vet office and noticed her mother and father getting ready to close up for the evening

"Ah there you are Zoe " said Dr. Drake looking a bit relieved at the sight of his youngest daughter

Right after Dr. Drake said that Mrs. Drake rushed over and hugged Zoe "Zoe we were so worried, we didn't know if that thing attacked you or not and you weren't answering your phone but I'm just happy your ok" said Mrs. Drake releasing her daughter from the hug and holding her shoulders looking at her

" Oh, I didn't even hear it go off " said Zoe just as Reese entered "Oh Zoe, hello mom, dad " said Reese she walked over to Zoe

"Hey sis "said Zoe smiling, Reese had a small smile form which was extremely rare " I'm glad your ok I'm mean after what happened earlier " said Reese

"Heh of course I'm ok I'm tough and you would have had to have seen the other if it did try to hurt me" said Zoe smugly

"Your not truly invincible sweetheart " said Mrs. Drake " But the enthusiasm is everything " added Dr. Drake Zoe chuckled

"You'll need to be more careful sis just so mom and dad don't have to worry like that again and please, keep the sound on on your phone next time "said Reese in a bit of a sassy tone as she walked up the stairs

" But you never do " said Zoe

"Do too, what you don't hear my ... my um "stuttered Reese " Spit it out already " said Zoe " You don't hear Zander singing as my ringtone " said Reese composing herself and trying to his the slight tinge of pink on her face just from the thought of Zander 

"Uh huh, sure you weren't gonna say boy ...." started Zoe but was silenced with a death glare from Reese

Zoe was very familiar with that look since she got it daily if she mentioned Zander or teased Reese  Zoe just looked at her sister with a sassy look

Reese huffed and went upstairs in a flustered mess, Zoe giggled knowing that what she was gonna say was most likely true

Later that evening Mrs. Drake and Dr. Drake were beginning to make dinner when Dr. Drake hugged Mrs. Drake from behind "Oh, heh what are you up to my little penguin " teased Mrs. Drake

" Oh nothing my love just a simple hug to show how much I love you " said Dr. Drake before leaving a soft kiss on his wife's cheek

Mrs. Drake giggled and blushed, she turned around and slightly bent down and did a quick peck on her husband's lips, Dr. Drake smiled

Meanwhile _____

Max was lounging about in his room fiddling with his Dino bracer again he then accidentally hit a button turning the small device on

A picture of him, Rex, Zoe, Ed, Zander, Rod, Laura, Dr. Z, Ursula, Helga, and Johnathan along with the Ancient's, the Drakes and his parents, the picture had been taken right after their fight and victory against the Spectral Space Pirates

Max gazed at the photo for a while he lightly touched Rex's face on the screen " I miss you so much Rex "mumbled Max solemnly

He then clicked off the dino bracer hoping to prevent a meltdown and another wave of sadness and depression from consuming him

Max lyed out and looked at the bracer one last time before letting it fall to the floor with a clatter and bump

He then had flashbacks to all his memories and fun times with Rex, when the D Team was still whole

Max curled up clutching his pillow as the memories kept playing he felt tears well up in his eyes

"Stop crying Max it's been three years you have to stop dwelling on the past" thought Max but it was useless the tears were now streaming like waterfalls

Max hid his face in his pillow and sobbed for a bit

Meanwhile ______

The creature was flying high over Sanjo city it bellowed a loud screech calling out for its brethren unknown to the creature it was the first one to reach earth and would be alone for a little while longer

The creature then gave up on its call " For the mean time I suppose I could cause some more mischief" Uttered the creature as it flew down and hovered above the Taylor's house "Time for a surprise" cackled the creature raising a single clawed hand to the air.
