Part 7:

1 week later.

Melissa's POV
I have 2 more weeks left until I get my phone back, I've been on house arrest, but Joe and Sophie still allowed me to go out every once in a while. The person who I shall not call dad hasn't tried to contact me once since he appeared in front of Joe's house. I now have a bodyguard and wasn't supposed to leave the house without one.

I walked into Joe's office to find him talking to dad and another person on zoom.

Melissa: you wanted to speak with me?
Joe: yes come in and close the door
I did what I was told and went over to him and noticed dad on the screen.

Melissa: hi dad...
Dad: Melissa...
Joe: you remember dad's lawyer. He wants to discuss our case
Melissa: case?
Joe: about your da- I mean the guy that impregnate your mother
Melissa: I haven't seen him in a week since he came to your doorstep
Joe: it's always good to have protection if he does show up again
Melissa: if he showed up he would have done something
Joe: Mel, he isn't gonna do something with Sophie and I are around, he isn't that dumb. Imagine if you had opened the door, what do you think he would have done?
Melissa: *shrugs shoulder* I don't know, but he stalked me all the way here, don't you think he would have done something by now before I even got here
Joe: Mel...
Melissa: can I go please, I don't want to talk about this anymore
Dad's Lawyer: Just one minute, your dad suggested we get a restraining order against him, but because he hasn't done anything to you yet when he was released. However he did break the rules about looking for you and leaving the state without contacting his parole officer first, which count as stalking and violating his probation
Melissa: Does this mean he's going back to jail again?
Dad's Lawyer: if he doesn't go back to the state in the minimum of 24 hours and complete his task since he isn't exactly free yet since he still on probation, he will most likely
Melissa: Then what are we worried about?
Dad's Lawyer: he probably is still out there looking for you. We don't know what he wants, so do as your brother says until we get to the bottom of this
Melissa: fine... *to Joe* Can I go now?
Joe: *sighs* go

I huffed and left Joe's office, Joe was probably gonna have a stern talk with me later about my attitude. I went to the backyard to jump on the trampoline that Joe and Sophie built during quarantine. I wish I could make a Tik Tok video right now but I still have 2 more weeks left until I get my phone back.

I went to walked back into the house, but I was grabbed from behind and went to yell Bloody Murder which was our code word but my mouth was covered and I was knocked out.

The dream I had was about me and my mom, she was giving me a bath in the shower in the pool house we were staying in, Jonas house crib and she was singing me one of our favorite songs as we laughed and giggled, wait this wasn't a dream, this was a memory we had together. She combed my hair after the bath and I said to her as she was doing my hair in my bedroom.

Melissa: mom
Melissa's mom: yeah baby
Melissa: What is dad like?
Melissa's mom: *nervous* uh... well he was a good man, and he loves you so much
Melissa: if he loved me, then why did he leave me?
Melissa's mom: oh honey he didn't leave you, he left me. We weren't seeing eye and eye. You know how people fall out of love?
Melissa: yeah?
Melissa's mom: I fell out of love with your father

My mother has always spoken well about my father because she didn't want me to know the truth about who he really was.

I opened my eyes and noticed I was in the car driving with a man that looked like my father. I wish I could sit in the passenger seat, handcuff.

Melissa: let me go!
???: you're a wake
Melissa: you were gonna wait until I was alone to grab me huh dad
Melissa's Dad: you still call me dad even tho we never met
Melissa: how did you know what I looked like if you didn't know who I was or where to find me
Melissa's Dad: my lawyer been keeping an eye on me for you
Melissa: what do you want?
Melissa's Dad: to talk
Melissa: If you wanted to talk, why am I handcuffed
Melissa's Dad: so you don't escape
