Diana began to wander around the room completely bored but one thing that Alec said replayed in her head

Bloodroses are trouble

She shook her head in anger trying to shake out his words, usually, nothing really fazed her but when someone insults her family it really hits her like an arrow through her blissful calm and broke her carefully made mask of sarcasm and humor. It was jarring when she heard what he said even though part of it was true. Imagine when he realizes he was talking ill of the dead? She let out a dry, humorless chuckle. He would never know, not even Isabelle knows the true story. All she has been told that her parents are really busy in Idris and she has to live with a warlock friend of theirs. She doesn't even know that Daniel existed. So why should her brother know any better?

She neared the center of the room when a flash of red hair shot past her, and she heard Jace calling out Clary's name who was apparently having a fit.

"Umm, what's up with you?" Diana asked the raging ginger

"Don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't even think about me. I'm still mad at you" Clary snapped her hair flying as she turned away

"Good to know and do you know how relaxing it is that I don't have to talk to you or look at you or think about you? Like seriously it's so calming" Diana retorted a sweet smile plastered on her face as Clary glared at her

"Impressive" Someone whispered

"I know I always had a sharp tongue, my mother always threatened to cut it off, and believe me one day she still might. You never know Steve" Dania whispered back her eyes dancing with humor at the confused look on Jace's face at the unfamiliar name. He muttered something underneath his breath before moving to stop Clary from leaving

"Clary, look, will you just calm down?" Jace asked grabbing at her arm, Clary whirled around

"Calm down? Really, calm down?" She cried her voice rising in pitch

"Okay, Jace, you guys might be some kind of emotionless G.I. Joe, but-" Jace caught her off

"What is a G.I. Joe?" He asked sounding confused

"To be honest, I don't know what she is saying" Diana cut in but Clary didn't spare her a glance as she glared intently at Jace

"A soldier who doesn't understand human emotions, who doesn't know what's it's like to lose someone to lose your own mother."

"That's a bit harsh we actually feel emotions like right now I'm annoyed and a bit pissed off and your statement, little carrot," Diana said a smirk spreading on her face as Clary rolled her eyes

"You're right. I never knew my mother" Jace shrugged, huh, how about having your whole family murdered does that count Diana thought but she kept that to herself.

Clary froze mid-rant before stammering "I didn't know"

"That's precisely my point, you don't know anything about this. You don't know about me, you don't know about my life. But in the Shadow World, no training and no plan gets you killed."

"Preach!" Diana added as she leaned on the wall

"Shut up" Clary snapped glaring at her former-friend

"You first ginger" Diana retorted dropping a sly wink as Clary turned to lean on the opposing wall.

"Okay, so we know that Valentine is back and want the Cup, and for some reason, he thinks my mother has it"

"Does she?"

"Could she?"

Jace and Diana asked in unison
