I made my way through the Louvre once more, speed-walking  down the hall, avoiding anyone and anything that could slow me down. I had waited way too long for this moment and I couldn't screw it up. I looked down at my wrist-watch. 5 minutes till the door closes. I let out a sigh and picked up some speed until I fully broke out into a run, earning a few glances from the pristegous guests and tourists who were crowded in the hall.

Bleh.

  Finally, I made it...
That all too familiar hallway. I looked down at my watch again, 3 minutes until the door shuts tight permanently. I took a deep breath, pushing open the door that led to familiar mansion filled with historys most notable men of all time.

(POV SWITCH.)

You had pushed your way through the mansions doors, gazing up at the familiar hallway you found yourself in a few months back.  Two familiar faces paced down the hall, unaware of your presence. You looked back down at your watch, Time is up.

You glanced back at the door you had come through; it was locked shut. Looking up into the hall, suddenly locking eyes with the two men who had their eyes now on you, shocked.

"By jove, Y/N, you're back!" Arthur, the British novelist called out to you while Theodorus, who stood beside his frivolous friend, continued to stare at you, wide-eyed. Arthur nudged him slightly, "It's rude to stare, you know?" Theodorus grumbled and rolled his eyes, approaching you with Arthur on his tail.

"Hondje, what are you 'doin back here? I thought you went home."
"I— wanted to see Le Comte again. And all of you of course— I've grown rather fond of all of your company..." Arthur smirked at you, quirking an eyebrow up as he studied your figure. Already, thoughts and scenes were playing through your mind which only worried you even more, god damnit. 'What if he doesn't even want to see me...? That'd make this trip back absolutely worthless.'

Arthur clasped Theodorus on the shoulder playfully, "Oi, why don't you go fetch Le Comte? It is what Y/N came here for after all."

Theo snorted and rolled his eyes, shaking his companions hand off of his shoulder, "Yeah, yeah, sure." Turning on his heel, Theo walked out of the hall leaving Arthur and Y/N alone with each other.

Yeah, great combination.

You had expected him to at least attempt to 'make a move' on you, or at least make a flirtatious comment, but to your surprise, he didn't. "Ehh, Y/N, I didn't know you took such a liking to Comte. There wasn't anything going on behind closed doors now, hmm?" Arthur winked towards your direction and you stepped on his shoe.
"What? No!" Your face flushed a bright pink, crossing your arms and glancing away in attempt to hide your flushed expression. Arthur let out a hearty laugh and patted your shoulder, "Aww come on, you can talk all about your frivolous affairs with m—"

"Shut up, Arthur!" You squealed, pushing him away with a giggle. It was times like these that you spent with the other mansion residents that really made it worth-while.

Of course, you couldn't forget Le Comte... Becoming suddenly attached to the vampire during your first visit to the manor (which had happened by chance, of course.), you had attended Comte a majority of the time wether it be helping him (alongside Sebastian) or attending fancy masquerades and meet-ups. You two had grown extremely close— you believed that he too, grown fond of you...

Until that dreadful day when the door that connected your two separate times had opened... and before you could even confess, you were thrusted into the doors and before you even realized it, you two were separated... temporarily.
Delaying going back home for the next few months, you lived a hotel life in Europe until to-day. The day where you'll finally be able to see the only man you had fallen in love with. Less than a man— more vampire.

Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps down the hall, you gazed up at Arthur who was standing beside you. He looked down at you and motioned towards the figure who had halted themselves in the hall. You gazed towards the direction—

Theodorus and...Comte. Your breath hitched in your throat while you straightened your posture. His eyes narrowed at your figure, studying you. It sent shivers down your spine and soon enough, Theo and Arthur had excused themselves from the hall, leaving you and Comte alone.
"I didn't expect you to show up again."
He sighed, his expression softens while he gazed down at your figure. You sighed, "It's just, I missed y-you're... everyones company."
"So my suspicions were true."
"Huh?"
"You are here because of me."
"..."
You stayed silent, too scared to admit the real truth. You felt lonely and scared without him, even when you went back home, you felt as if something in your life we're incomplete and it hurt you so much emotionally.
You felt something graze your cheek, looking up, you locked eyes with him, realizing how close he had really gotten, the warmth of his body radiated onto yours.

He took your hand in his, gently leading you to the balcony where the two of you were met with the light, cold breeze of the night, cooling your hot and flushed cheeks.

The two of you didn't exchange a word with each other, just simply staring out into the city's lights below.
It was extremely awkward, especially for you. Your eyes shifted to him every once in a while, trying to read him. What is he thinking about right now?

Letting out a small huff, Comte shifted his eyes over to you, his expression gentle and sympathic. Having no choice but to look up at him and make eye contact, you did, feeling shy and uneasy even under his soft gaze, you couldn't help but feel insecure and embarassed.

"...What's the real reason you came back?" He sputtered out in a hushed voice, his gaze fell from you and back at the city below.
That's a good question...

"Well... I-"
You cut yourself off, biting your bottom lip. It was far too embarassing for you to admit the truth.

"Is it because of me?"

You nodded.
Comte slowly inched closer to you, dangerously close to the point you could again feel his body heat against yours. Your cheeks flushed red and gazed up into his gold & amber ores.

He cupped your cheek with his hand and leaned down, his fingers tracing your features while he gazed down intently from your face all the way down to your collar which was exposed from the outfit you were wearing.
"The only reason I pushed you away was to keep you safe."
He whispered, his voice suprisingly grim and his soft gentle expression twisted into pained and sorrowful one which broke your heart subtly.
"Keep me safe?..." Your hand found its way to Conte's, gently holding it between your soft palms.
He only nodded, not saying anything more. Your gaze faultered and you felt like crying, you couldn't take it anymore.

"I...I love you!" You cried, pushing him away from you and you held your face in your hands, embarrassed and scared for what he'll say next. The sudden burst of confidence you once had faded away and you were nothing but a helpless lamb.

He simply stared at you, dumbfounded and surprised, who knew you would be the one making the first move? Let alone, confessing.
Moving closer, he caught your wrists and pulled you towards him, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss. It startled you, but you returned it, your heart aflutter at the situation that you found yourself in, although completely cliché, you couldn't complain.

It was an actual dream come true.
