"Zero's not here again."

Yuka turned and looked back at the student in the back of the classroom, almost surrounding the seat where the silver haired boy sat. "Where has he gone to?" They continue to question. Her eyes fell down, but went back up to stare at Zero's chair that's collecting dust.

"Yuka," she turned to look at Sayori who called her name. "Are you feeling alright?" she asked gingerly. The dark haired girl didn't hesitate and answered quickly. "Yes, of course!" She said. "Why?"

"You look awfully pale today. You didn't get enough sleep?" Sayori continue to question, which made Yuka in a daze. She shook her head. "I-I guess not.."

Ever since yesterday happened, Yuka couldn't help but to recall the moment when she was caught in a situation with a vampire, let alone Zero being there to save her. She stayed up all night, thinking about it. She truly didn't get sleep, not after what occurred yesterday, being attacked that is.

But most of all, she still questions about Zero's part, finding her and killing that vampire as if it was nothing to him. And he still behaved dreadfully like he always does around her. Yuka couldn't help but to feel worried about Zero's absences. She thought it would be a new day to finally start talking to him after that occurrence.

Skipping class wouldn't do any good for her to find out what's going with him.

After class, Sayori walked Yuka, leading themselves to their dorms for dinner. Dusk has finally reached, and Yuka couldn't stop watching outside of the window as night fall began to hit. She wonders if vampires do hate sunlight and come out at night.

"You're not eating?" Sayori walked towards her with her tray of entrees. Looking down at her food, Yuka didn't realize she was dozing off for that long as she sees her porridge getting cold. She gave out a nervous laugh and smiled. "Well, I guess I'm not that hungry," she simply answered, getting up.

"Um, please excuse me, Sayori." The short haired girl blinked curiously. "Where are you going?" she asked.

"I just need to see the Headmaster." When Yuka was getting close to the door, Sayori didn't make another attempt to stop her as she saw on her face that Yuka is eager to get out of the building, in a hurry.

If she couldn't get any answers from Zero, or anybody around her, then perhaps she can hear it from someone who's been here longer than she has.

*~*~*

Shit...

There was blood, my blood, all over the sink.

I coughed loudly, hacking up every last drop of the blood tablets as I painfully watched the pink residue drain down the pipe. Touching my sore, sweaty neck, I panted heavily while the itchiness in my throat burned in agony.

I'm... I'm losing control.

Is this my end? Is this what it feels like approaching to a Level E? This starvation, my misery, keeps going farther for me. There's no end to it, and all I keep thinking about is blood; her blood.

Shooting my hand over my eye, I clenched my teeth together as I felt my fangs poke through lips and my hands suddenly getting larger. It felt like I couldn't breathe, like I was going to black out but to a whole new level to that, as if I was falling into a hole - a dark one.

Desperately catching myself from the floor, I escaped from my room and let the cold air blow pass my hot body. I was sweating, like I've been running miles ever since I was born, and then starting to run outside of the night. The moon reflected light on the courtyard outside of the school, which led me to the fountain in the middle of nowhere.

I placed my hands on the cold barrier, heaving my uneven breaths and trying to calm my pacing heart. No matter how much I tried, my hunger still kept on boiling. And then I knew I was losing myself, my body starting to weaken on every dying second as I watched my face slowly transforming on the reflection of the water.

I was no longer myself. I couldn't recognize those bloody-red eyes staring back at me so menacingly.

Until a dust of scent flew pass my nose, my mind went completely blank.

"Zero?" Oh no... Yuka.

"Zero!" This time, her voice sounded a lot closer as her footsteps became louder. "Are you okay?"

Yuka... Stay away!

I was unable to speak, so instead I tried to move my body to run away from her. But once I took a step forward, I felt my body starting to collapse and my muscles aren't working anymore. I was about to fall towards the ground, but a hand caught my back and I was against something warm against me.

"Don't worry! I got you," Yuka yelled. She hugged me desperately, mostly trying to get me on my two feet but I only remained sitting in front of her. I couldn't manage to look at her, I was breathing hard. And once I opened my hooded eyes, I was greeted by the light texture of her skin, her bare neck exposed in front of my face.

My insides churned and my nerves snapped as the conscious in me instantly disappeared. My vision blurred with redness and my heart stopped pacing. I can hear the faint shouts from Yuka beside me, but I knew I was already gone, my ears blocking everything surrounding me.

In a quick second, my nails flourished and my long fangs drew out like pin needles, grabbing both of Yuka's head and shoulder for myself to have access. And finally, my teeth snatched onto her neck as the guilty pleasure runs through out my body, tasting her warm blood against my tongue. It was painfully delicious, like I was parched for many years and this is the first thing I ate.

It is the most satisfying taste I have ever come across in my life.

Don't. No more. Stop.

I was drinking her blood, her life as it flashed me moments in her memories before my eyes. I see a little girl in braids growing up, living in a happy family. I saw the her the most happiest and saddest moments for a second, and then it repeated like a record player until I felt something struggling against my hold.

"Zero! Stop it!" I've been pushed as my eyes slowly started to convert back to my normal vision. And the first thing I see is Yuka's face a few feet away from me, her blue eyes widen and her mouth gapes. Then my eyes trailed down to her neck covered in blood, masked by her messy hand.

She's in complete shock.

My heart started to beat again, normally as I felt my strength returning back to me. I widened my own lilac eyes, realizing what I've done as my fangs withdrew back to my human ones. Lowering my gaze sadly at her, my hand tried to reach for her.

"Yuka...," I mumbled gently, but she didn't say anything to me. She just stared, trembling as I amusingly watched more blood drip from her neck, the blood that I drank from her. Fuck!

"Wait, Zero!" I heard Yuka shouted, but I continue to bolt through the woods and ran away from my mistake. I sprinted, feeling the anger and guilt inside me erupting in my chest for what I did back there.

"Zero! Stop!" A voice echoed through my head as Yuki's face appeared, with the same expression that Yuka did.

Why? Why is this happening? I'm such a fool, to think that this wouldn't happen again.
