Spencer and Lexie packed as much as they could in 20 minutes, heading to the BAU. Fear pumped through their veins as Spencer sped to the BAU. He makes this drive five times a week, he knows this route like the back of his hand. Having an eidetic memory helps. So when a car slams into the side of his car, Spencer couldn't help but be taken off guard.

When his car is spinning out of control on the freeway, Spencer couldn't help but think about his past life. Every mistake he's made, every amazing moment, every victim he has ever saved. It felt like every memory he has ever had was filling in his brain.

His drug addiction, Gideon leaving, Emily faking her death, the multiple times he's had craving for Dilaudid but instead of taking it, he would just go to bars and sleep with random women. Then he met Maeve, then she died. Now he's here with Lexie.

Lexie.

When he finally comes to terms with whats happening his head turns to Lexie. The other car hit his side of the car, so when he moves his neck, an unbearable pain shoots through him. He grunts in pain. Since his neck can't move, he reaches his arm to Lexie's side. When her hand wraps around his he feels himself relax, maybe a little too much.

"Spencer? No no no, stay awake." Lexie's strained voice echos in his ears.

"Lex..." his voice was shallow, not louder than a whisper.

"Spencer, keep your eyes open, look at me." Lexie pleads with Spencer, trying to find his pulse.

"Okay," His voice trails off as his eyes finally close. He was unconscious.

"Spencer!"

........

When Lexie is loaded onto a gurney, she can't think straight. The only thing running through her mind is the baby. All she wants is her family to be okay. She knows she needs to think clearly during this situation, so she takes a deep breath and tells the doctor what happened.

"A car t-boned us. Spencer's light was green, and a car rammed into his side. We spun out a few times when we stopped Spencer was awake and talking, but then he just stopped." Lexie had realized how much she was crying until she stopped rambling.

She was a doctor, she could tell she had to immediate injuries. She needed a head CT and ultrasound. She wanted to tell the paramedic workers, but her tears strained her voice. She couldn't seem to put any words together, but when she saw Spencer on a gurney on the other side of the road, she found her voice.

"He can't have narcotics! He needs a head CT, he hit his head pretty hard. He'll need-" She was cut off by a paramedic.

"Ma'am let us do our jobs please." The man deadpanned.

"I am a board-certified neurosurgeon, I think I could probably do your job better since you seem to not be doing anything but stick a needle in my arm." Lexie hissed.

The man's eyes grew the size of tennis balls. "I-I'm"

"Don't say you're sorry, just tell the other idiots that my boyfriend can't have narcotics and that he needs a damn head CT." Lexie was fuming.

The man nodded, running over to Spencer's ambulance to inform the other paramedics. Lexie turned to the other paramedic that was working on her.

"My heart feels fine, my head doesn't hurt, and I don't feel any abdominal pain. I will need a head CT since I hit my head on the window, and I'm ten weeks pregnant, so I'll need an ultrasound."

The paramedic just nodded with wide eyes. Starting to hook Lexie up to other devices in the ambulance. When the other paramedic returned, Lexie's gurney was loaded into the back of the ambulance so they could drive to the hospital.

Lexie's mind was racing a mile a minute. She knew she was okay, it was Spencer she was worried about. He took the biggest hit, she assumed he would have to go in for surgery. If she had to guess, he had a concussion and internal bleeding.

"Dr. Grey, I need you to take deep breaths." the woman paramedic spoke softly as she put an oxygen mask over Lexie's nose and mouth.

Lexie was panicking, she knows every good and bad situation that came with every surgery. From first glance, Spencer looked fine, but what if he wasn't. What if he died too? Lexie couldn't go on, losing another person she loves. Spencer had to meet his child, he couldn't die now, he has to be okay.

She couldn't seem to control her breathing, she was so scared. The walls of the ambulance seemed to be closing in on her. Nothing felt okay, she could hear the heart monitors behind her beeping like crazy. She didn't care. Tears made her vision blurry, her thoughts felt fuzzy.

"Ma'am, I'm going to give you a sedative to calm down."

Lexie heard the words, but they didn't process in her mind. She felt the needle go into her arm, but the only thought going through her mind at the moment was,

"Call Aaron Hotchner." then she passed out.
When Lexie woke up, she was laying in a hospital bed. The blinds were open, so she could see it was now morning. She looked around her room to find a sleeping Caroline in the corner. She checked her body to make sure she didn't have any surgical scars. No scars, so she must have passed out.

"Caroline," Lexie spoke.

Caroline jolted awake, almost falling out of the chair she was sleeping in.
"Lex! You're awake."

"Hows Spencer and the baby?" Lexie asked, the stress in her voice.

"The baby is just fine, and Spencer's recovering from surgery."

"How long have I been out?"

"Almost two days."

"Two days?" Lexie sat up quickly, a pain shooting through her head causing a groan to escape her lips.

"You have a concussion, but besides that, you're totally fine." Caroline chuckled.

"And Spencer?"

"He had a minor brain bleed, and parts of the streeling wheel column were crushed into his abdomen, but surgery fixed it, he was just moved from the ICU last night."

Lexie felt a wave of relief wash over her. Spencer was okay, her baby was okay, she was okay.

"Can I see him?"
