Ariana's POV

He actually said he loved me and I really wasn't sure whether or not I should believe his words. I wanted to so badly but what if he really didn't mean it? I don't know. I can't stop thinking about it. My thoughts were cut into by a deep voice,

"Miss Grande, would you like to answer the question now or keep daydreaming?"

"Sorry Mr. Starski. The answer would be that an a cappella is a solo or group singing songs that are not accompanied by music or instruments."

He was pleased with the answer and returned the blackboard. I couldn't stop thinking about Avan. Class was almost over, why wasn't he here?

Suddenly Avan walked in the door and his gaze escaped mine. I haven't mentioned it yet, but I'm a little shaky about this situation still. I don't know that he actually, and genuinely cares about me. He refuses to talk to me in front of the cheerleaders, and all his friends. I'm thinking maybe we should end it before things get bad. I sat in the back of the music room all alone thinking and procrastinating about the situation.

Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see a tall figure dressed in white and black with black ankle boots, black tights, a black skirt, and a white top. I would know this person anywhere. It was Liz. Her voice broke into my thoughts,

"Ariana!"

"Huh? Oh, hey Liz."

"What are you doing all by yourself over here in the corner?"

"Just thinking about some stuff."

"Like what?"

"I don't know. I just can't stop thinking about Avan. He never wants to talk to me in front of his group of friends. It makes me feel like he's embarassed."

"Ari, listen, if you think he's worth it then do something about it. If not than save yourself the heartbreak and-"

Liz was cut off by Avan's voice,

"Hey, can we talk?"

Liz scowled at him and made him almost completely uncomfortable, I smiled at her and gave her the look that meant please give me a minute. She hesitated but then continued to leave the classroom.

I got up and I just looked at him and said,

"What do you want Avan?"

"I want to talk to you."

"About what? I'm not even worth it considering you never want to talk to me around your friends, or any of the popular kids. What is it? I'm not good enough for you?"

Avan got quiet, and hadn't said a word for almost two minutes, and finally said,

"Ari, you have to understand something. Guys like me can't be seen with girls like you."

That was the last straw for Ariana,

"You and those stupid stereotypes! Why can't you ever be brave and stand up for the person you say you love? We're done Avan, don't ever talk to me ever again!"

Tears started rolling down my soft cheeks, and Avan started to say,

"Ariana, it's not-"

He was cut off by a hard slap to the face, and she said,

"And to think I thought you were somebody special."

She walked away upset and angry, but most of all she was hurt. Hurt that someone who said that they loved her could ever do such a thing. It was time for next period and she walked in the classroom to see Avan sitting in the desk a row over from hers with his face buried in his hands. She continued to her seat and sat there in silence. Avan texted her,

Ari I'm really sorry, let me make it up to you please.

She just looked at it and then ignored his plea for forgivance. She couldn't even look him in the eye. A new boy have arrived in their class, and he sat in the empty desk next to Ariana. He smiled and her, and he cheeks flushed pink. He said,

"Hey, I'm Logan. Logan Henderson."

She smiled and said,

"Hey, I'm Ariana."

After class, Logan walked Ariana out, when they reached the school entrance to get ready to go home, he smiled at her, and then he leaned in and kissed her.

Avan walked out to see them, and never once had he let so many tears roll down his face, and he said to himself,

"How could you?"
