CHAPTER 16 ~ JUMP

Recap:

'Who are Naida, Aziba and Ruzgar?'

'Who?!'

'Naida, Aziba and Ruzgar. Who are they?'

'I have no freaking idea,' she answered. 'Let's go find Zeb and Shasta. Okay, Naida?'

'There you go again. You said Naida... to me,' I pointed out.

'So apparently we are Nymphs, Element Nymphs,' she replied.

When we'd searched the whole ship and hadn't found a clue on where Zeb and Shasta where held, I finally told Alexis what was on my mind.

'Alexis, you know when that guy died?'

'Yeah, what about it?'

'I felt something go away, like a light was turned off. I think I can detect life... and death.'

She stared at me with her mouth open. 'No way. We must have gotten more powers then the fish told you.'

'Yeah, I guess. So I've been thinking and searching.'

'For what?' she asked cautiously.

'Well, I've been searching for your .. ehh light and found it too. It represented your character, it was all red and felt like fire. Then I got to think, if I can find a specific life then maybe I can use it to find Zeb and Shasta.'

'Not bad. Not bad at all. So did you find their light bulbs yet?'

'That's just it. I haven't se-'

I broke off mid-sentence because Alexis had raised her head, listening to something I couldn't hear.

'The captain,' she whispered. ' He's thinking about selling us as slaves. And..'

She listened again, I waited impatiently, staring, searching. When I returned to reality, Alexis' face was a combination of pride, panic, anger and confusion

'He's dropped them. He threw them overboard,' she growled. 'The only reason why he didn't threw us too, is because... he thinks we're gonna be good entertainment.'

She forced the word out, her face now showing anger. Her hands shook and I was pushed away violently by a thick layer of red mist. I fell to the ground, landing on the rug and stood up as quickly as possible. The mist had disappeared and showed a Fire Nymph.

Her frayed red top and skirt were back, but she was still shaking with anger. Within two seconds, the Nymph disappeared and showed a red fox, really red. It growled and then sped off through the hallway. I sighed and followed it, walking through the hallways as you would walk through a museum, looking at everything.

When I reached the captain's quarters, Alexis was sitting on the couch, staring at the TV, flipping through the channels without looking at them. Behind her was the captain sitting in his chair. He shouted something at Alexis, but she didn't hear it. Neither did I.

Why? Because his mouth was covered with ducktape. His arms were crossed behind his back and stuck together with more tape. His feet were stuck together too. I grinned widely, earning myself a glare from the captain.

'I walked to his computer and stared at the keyboard. Very vaguely I saw his fingerprints on the keys. I started the computer and typed in the most used letters. His password was actually pretty lame. It was "ilikemywife".

I opened a few windows and found his diary. I read a few entry's.
