Virtue of Love in Mendiola (Manila Series #1)

PROLOGUE

"Mom, what time are you gonna go to the hospital?" I asked.

"Ako lang? Hindi mo talaga ako sasamahan?"

"Sabi ko nga po sasamahan." Sagot ko naman.

"If that is so then go prepare na, napakabagal mo pa namang kumilos." Pangaasar ng nanay ko.

"Whatever, Ma."

After talking to my Mom, agad akong umakyat sa room ko para magbihis dahil nagpapasama siya para sa weekly check up niya.

Nagsuot ako ng oversized beige shirt, denim short and white flat rubber shoes. Nagsuot din ako ng black belt na may ring shaped buckle. After fixing my hair and doing my makeup, agad akong bumaba to check on my Mom if she's already done.

"Tapos ka na?" she asked then I nodded.

We headed outside na after talking. I'll be the one to drive the car since Mom isn't able to drive.

After a while, we arrived at the hospital kung saan nagpapacheck-up si Mommy.

Nang mai-park ko na ang kotse ko, agad akong sumunod kay Mommy sa loob ng hospital.

"Busy pa daw ba doctor mo, My?" I asked dahil inip na inip na 'ko sa paghihintay.

"Hindi ko alam eh, Try to ask that nurse." She said and I did what she told me.

"Uhm excuse me, is Dr. Santiago here?" I asked. Hinintay ko ang sagot ng nurse dahil may kausap pa.

"Okay po, Doc." She said to the one na kausap niya at mukhang tapos na silang magusap.

Mukhang doctor ata 'tong kausap niya dahil naka formal attire pero walang coat na suot. Hindi ko madistinguish dahil nakatalikod siya sa akin.

Nang matapos na sila magusap ay humarap sa gawi ko ang doctor.

"Arabella.." I heard the doctor say that pero nilagpasan ko lang siya.

Kabado bente ako bhie walanya.

"Uhm, I heard your question po, ma'am. Yes po, Dr. Santiago is here po kaso currently checking on the emergency patient. Can you wait po?" the nurse explained.

"Yes." Tanging nasagot ko tsaka muling bumalik sa waiting area.

"Ma, andaming hospital dito sa Manila. Ayusin natin decisions natin next time, ha?" I said nang makaupo na ako.

"Ha? Maayos naman dito. May problema ba? Nakita mo nab a doctor ko?"

"Hindi, Ma. Ibang doctor yung nakita ko.."
