NICCOLE ZEMIRA

I thankfully get to the PTA meeting in time, and take a seat at the backseat, just as they were about to start.

"Welcome, Moms and Dad's from all over the school. I don't know what it might have caused some of you to be here today. These days, we find more working class parents, than stay at home ones. I sincerely hope your jobs are all still intact and you didn't have to quit anyone to come here. The school can't take responsibility for that, and you must pay school fees" she joked, and everyone laughed. The woman I could only assume was the principal of the school

"The Moms have teamed up to say they want to introduce a new program for the kids. So I said I'll bring it up here today, and let you guys be the judge. I'll just call the leader of the school's moms up here, to the stand. And she can tell you all about this wonderful idea of theirs, herself. Lisborne!"she announced, and I had to school my features to prevent my frown from showing

'So that bitch was head of moms in the school? No wonder she was well, a Bitch' I thought snidely, as I watch her walk to the stage and take over from the principal.

"Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for the time you took out, to come here. We the hardworking Moms, well at least some of us, because I really can't understand what the rest of them who don't participate, do with their time. So we the moms decided to introduce a Talent Sketch for the kids. Our toddlers, between three to five year olds; who're not sure of what they're good at, or what they can achieve yet. Let's show them that there are so many things to learn, so many things to achieve even at such a young stage in their lives. They might just find out that they're good at singing, dancing, reciting poetry, painting, sculpting. We just might birth a little Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston on that day, who knows? It's going to be happening a week from now, and both parents and kids are going to participate. So it's also going to serve as a bonding session for kids and parents. You've got a week to prepare your child for whatever talent you wish for them to perform on that day, and on the D-Day, you're allowed to work with your child in achieving the set task, but ultimately the child should be the one doing most of the work. When everything's over, we're going to be gifting five children with the best talents, scholarships, for the next five years. Our dear principal says she wants all of you sitting here, to judge. So what do you'all think?" She finished off her speech, smiling

The entire crowd began applauding, some even in a standing ovation, obviously showing their approval, to the idea. And so it was fixed. That next week, the Talent Sketch was going to be holding.

I quickly got up, ready to leave. I've heard everything I needed to hear from the PTA meeting; no one said I needed to stay till the end. I'm already by the door, when I hear from the microphone

"Niccole. It's a bit rude to just get up and leave like that, don't you think? If all the parents did that, this place would be rowdy and I'd be left here, talking to myself." Lisborne gives the cutting remark and everyone including the principal, instantly turns back to look at me. And let me tell you, if not that I fight professional wrestling for a living and I'm used to eyes constantly watching me, I could have died right there and then, or dissolved into a pool of embarrassment and dismay. I take note of their rude and judgemental eyes gawking at me, trying to place me in a box, figure me out in their heads. And I stare right back, not even by a long shot ready to back down or cower in fear.

"I guess I have to constantly remind myself that you're not even a real parent, to start with. Everyone, you all know Bonnie. The little kid who lost a parent. This is the woman they decided to put in charge as Bonnie's new guardian. A common stripper who disguises herself as a boxer, I'm sorry, wrestler, which is even worse. At least she's dressed fairly decent today, which is more than I can say on other days she comes to drop Bonnie. Tell me, Niccole. Does Bonnie even have a talent? Do you even know how to do anything when it comes to being a Mom? Or are you completely clueless? Hope to see you next week at the talent sketch, where you showcase what Bonnie's new talent is. Hopefully it's not being turned into a punching bag by you, all in the guise of professional wrestling" She mocks out, and I am literally shaking on my feet. Shaking from anger. My body clawing at me, to hurt her back. Hurt her where it hurts. But then I'd be proving all these judgemental eyes right. And proving that I'm indeed just as lowly as they think I am. So I don't give her the benefit of replying her, and simply work out the door. Trash. Dirt. Good for nothing. Useless. The last time I'd felt that way, was the day my parents died. Lisborne had managed to get me to feel all of that once again, today.
