A Small Consolation

Everything that we once were,

is now a sad and lonely verse.

When once I had so much to say,

I am not bereft of words.

Sometimes it is the order of things,

that make them seem much worse.

It's not as if you would have stayed,

if I hadn't left you first.

Mew was watching a movie in his living room when his phone vibrates. He reached out to his phone that was lying on the coffee table.

It was an unknown number. His forehead puckered in confusion. After thinking for a few seconds, he decided to just pick up the call.

"Hello?"

"Hello.... Mew."

His heart was beating faster as he recognized the voice, but he did not want to jump to a conclusion yet.

"It's me, Gulf."

It's him.

"I... I got your number from Mild. Is it possible to meet now? I have something to tell you. It's urgent."

He took a glance at the clock hanging on the wall. It was 15 minutes past 12 in the morning, ttoo late to meet outside.

"Can you just come here? I'll text you my address," he finally decided upon thinking for a few minutes.

Gulf on the other side was waiting patiently for Mew to text him the address. His heart was beating so fast that he put his hand on his chest to calm it down.
