I woke up to a glass of cold water being poored on my face. I gasped and sat up, but found my arms and legs still bound to the bed, leaving me unable to wipe the water from my eyes. I shook my head, getting a contemptuous chuckle from who ever was beside me.

"Get your ass up subject 037." A male voice said.

I scrunched my eyes before blinking them open. I turned to glare at whoever was there at found none other then the first soldier that had guarded me, there. He smirked and started unstrapping me. As he was bent down over my legs to unstrap my right leg, I swung my free leg up and managed to land a hit to his face with my knee. It was with my bad leg but it was still satisfying to hear him groan and stumble back, holding his nose.

I reached down to undo the last resstraint myself and bolt for the door. Unfortunetly, the soldier recovered faster then I thought he would and in two big stepshe was next to me again, cracking me on the side of the head with the butt of his gun. The force of the hit sent my head whipping to the side and then face first into the wall.

I fell back against the bed, everything going white for a few long seconds in which I felt the last restraint get ripped off of my ancklebefore a hand wrapped in my hair and yanked me out of the bed. I stumbled as the vision in my one good eye came back into focus, landing on my knees, but was promptly pulled back to my feet. Water was still drilling down my face, now accompagnied with warm blood from my nose. I was dragged out of tbe room and shoved down the hall. Kyle was waiting for us in the same gym like room as yesterday and when we came crashing through the doors, he gasped.

"What the hell did you do?! I told you to go wake him up not beat him up! You even wet his bandages! The only reason you are here is because my brother had an emergecy to attend to and you where the only option I had. I will have your job next time you go behind my back like this. You are merealy a lowly soldier." He berated the soldier.

The man's grip tightened before he shoved me forward sending me to the ground again. Then he turned sharply and walked back out the door. I stared at Kyle, slightly shocked.

"Are you ok?" He asked, helping me to my feet.

"Yeah..." I trailed off still staring at him, I couldn't quite figure him out and I didn't like not knowing if he wanted to help me or was just pretending.

"What? What's wrong?" He questioned.

"Nothing... just didn't think you had it in you to shout at someone like that even less threaten their job." I said.

"Oh that... he pisses me off is all."

"Uh-huh..."

"Anyways, let's get a look at that nose. Its taken quite the beating lately hasn't it."

I sucked in a breath as he pressed on a tender spot on my nose.

"Well, good news is, it's not broken." He said, pulling a tissue out of his poket and handing it to me.

I wiped the blood under my nose then accepted another tisue to stop my nose bleed. Once the blood had stemed, Kyle smiled.

"So... why am I here this time?" I asked.

"Oh, I just thought you would enjoy flying without a bunch of scientists staring at you. And maybe get a little practice with your wings at the same time. You seemed a little unsteady yesterday." He explained.

"Yeah, well I didn't get much time tonpractice between all the runing away and hiding and being frozen for years." I bit back.

"Now's as good a chance as any." He smiled again.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him.

I beat my wings slowly, picking up speed gradually. I flew up to just a few feet bellow the ceiling and started flying in circles. I practiced hovering, going up and down and finally landing at high speed.

What felt like a few hours latter, i landed once again, breathing hard and sweating but I had finally managed to land well while flying quickly. My stomach growled loudly, alerting me that all the effort had exhausted of what little energy i had from my meal the previous day.

I walked over to Kyle who was sitting near the door, completly absorbed in what he was doing. I tapped his foot with mine to get his attention.

"Hmmm?" He humed, not looking up.

"I'm starving, can i have something to eat?" I asked.

"Uh, oh um, yeah of course."

He stood up and held out a pair of handcuffs. I held out my arms in front of me cuz I would not be able to eat with my hands behind my back. To my surprise, he cuffed my left hand to his right one.

"What are you doing?" I questioned.

"Gotta keep you in my sights at all times after that stunt you pulled." He answered.

He opened the doors tugging me out and down the hall in the oposit direction to my cell. The soldier was trailing behind us, gun held across his chest at the ready. I kept my eyes pelled for any sign as to where we were or a way out. A single door caught my eye at the end of one of the many halls we walked by. It had a keypad lock like all the others but there was a red circle in the center of it. I took note of it for when I managed to make a run for it and we continued on walking.

We soon made it to a medium sized cafertiria with multiple people miling about aimlessly dressed in all white clothes. It ranged form young children to midleaged individuals. All of them looked lost and broken. There was guards standing all arround the room, holding guns.

"Your not the only one they are testing on." Kyle whispered.

"Why have I never been here before?" I asked.

"Because you are a high priority top secret case. My bosses instructed that you are not to mingle with the others."
