A little girl was crying as she sat against a tree stump in the forest alone and afraid. "Mommy!" she cried, but no one could hear her over the screams and howls that echoed through the forest like a never ending nightmare.

Violet saw that the little girl's hair was a ball of black curls and her plump cheeks were red and had tear trails down her face. Her expression was horrified as she continued to cry for her mother, she looked to be around five or six- too young to be abandoned. Violet tied to sooth the young girl but found when she crouched in front of her the child couldn't see her nor was Violet able to touch her.

She felt like she was stuck in a dream, but t felt too real for her to be a dream. The sound of footsteps approached them making Violet stand on defense, even though she most likely wouldn't be able to help her. A women in her twenties came running towards the little girl in jeans, black combat boots and a long sleeved shirt. She looked like she was ready to kill something as she held a silver handgun ready to attack.

Violet feared for the little girl, thinking the women was going to harm her, but was wrong when she saw the look in her eyes. Frantic, but determined hazel eyes locked on the little girl and Violet watched as relief flooded through both of them.

"Mommy." The little girl threw her hands up reaching for her mother as her crying turned into loud sobs.

"Baby," the mother said as she tucked the gun into her waistband and picked her up. She gently caressed and kissed her head calming her daughter down. "Everything's going to be okay." She began running away from the way she came and out of the forest onto a suburb road.

Violet ran after them trying to keep up. She followed as the lady made her way to a two story house; Violet wouldn't be surprised if celebrities opened the door. The other ran up the marble steps and carefully placed her daughter own on the doorstep.

Violet watched as the mother crouched down to the little girl eye level, "You be a good girl for mommy, okay?" she whispered as she cupped her face into her hands. "Mommy has to go, but you'll be in good hands okay?" she gave her another kiss. "Remember mommy loves you."

The mother stood up rang the doorbell once and turned back to her daughter. "Wait here know, mommy will be back." She gave her one last kiss and sprinted back the way they came. The child was obedient as she stayed on the doorstep watching her mother's running figure. Her tears had died own and her big hazel doe eyes looked sad and so innocent Violet just wanted to sooth her pain.

Hue wooden doors opened and Violet couldn't help but let out a gasp. Sylvia wore a creamy white silk robe with her blonde hair framing her face in waves. She looked young as she peered down at the little girl with confusion. "Violet what are you doing here?" she asked concerned. "Where's your mother?"

"Mom-m-my... Mommy went th-a-t way." She stuttered as she pointed into the forest. Violet followed the girl's finger and stared out into the woods. This wasn't a dream, but a memory and that women- that was Violets real mother?

Violet woke with a jolt up in her bed with her body soaked in sweat. She remembered know, she had hat dream so many times as a child and rued them off as nightmares, but something had changed. She felt like she was there and it was real, that was her mother, the young women with hazel eyes.

Violet checked the time and saw it was quarter to five, so she went to her wardrobe and put on sweat pants and a jumper. Outside was cold as she made her way into the woods, careful not to wake up her family.

She could sense him before she saw him, "you're early."

"You look tired." He said as he appeared wearing a navy blue jumper and cargo pants- no shoes.

"Why thanks." She didn't exactly leave the house trying to impress anyone.

Guilt flashed in his eyes, "I didn't mean it like that, you look like you didn't get enough sleep. Is everything okay?" She wondered if he knew about the nightmare she had.

"Everything is fine." She put her hands in her jumper pockets. "So about those questions..." she didn't know where to start so she just went simple, "how am I a werewolf?"

"You have a werewolf gene, it's weak so one of your parents must have been a human while the other was a werewolf." He explained, is dark eyes never leaving hers.

"But that's impossible."

"Then explain your abnormal strength, quick reflexes, short temper, explain all those things to me Mina."

"I was born with it." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Yes, born with a werewolf gene." His blunt tone had Violet tongue tied. He spoke with such confidence she couldn't help but start to become convinced. It was strange for her to be told that werewolves and things like vampire declared as mythical, yet here was a werewolf standing in front of her telling her she was one. She was surprised she hadn't fainted yet, or ran in the other direction screaming in hysteria.

"If I'm a werewolf then how come I haven't shifted into a wolf- ever." She couldn't transform into a wolf like he and Nadia did last night.

He moved closer to her making her back up to the tree. "You need a pack and a mate to trigger your essence, which is your wolf."

Mate. "What's a mate?" A strange look crossed his face and Violet had a feeling she had asked something very intimate.

He placed an arm on the tree next to her head as he leaned closer to face, "A mate in your terms is a soul mate, a lover you spend the rest of your life with even beyond death." Her heart skipped a beat as his warn breath fanned her face making her temperature peak up. He was so close if she took a step their lips would touch and at that moment Violet wanted nothing more.

She licked her lips as she gazed from his onyx eyes and his lips. "Last night you said I was your mate."

He just kept staring into her hazel eyes that almost looked golden, he could see the wolf on the surface waiting to be freed. This wasn't the right time though, so he stepped away from her and tried not to flinch at her obvious hurt.

"I want you to meet my family, my mother will want to meet you. If that's okay with you?" She was still hurt, but know she was curious to meet his family. Would his mother like her? Did he have younger siblings, or older siblings?

Before she even thought about the pros and cons she said. "Yes."
