7. you collect her shards
8. you call her beautiful
9. and you tell her you love her
and you love her
10. you share her pain
11. you carry her pain
12. she's no longer alone
13. you feel her pain, you feel her stress
14. it's your pain now
15. she notices, she wants to help
16. but you don't tell her, you carry it
17. you're trying to protect her
18. until it's too much
19. and you break,
20. you leave
and her pain is back but it's worse because she can never feel enough again. you were not the first to help her and hold her, and you won't be the last- but you'll be the one she remembers the most because you were there through all the pain and she broke you.
because the truth is- you can't love someone who is broken
