" Hey, here take this. Me and Ckaress bought that for ya. Happy birthday Wayne." He just chuckled on what Ocean did.
After we greet him we're finally going to our seats. And of course Wayne assisted us. I mouthed 'thank you' at him. And he just smiled at me. So I did the same. As I took a seat. I'm busy roaming my eyes on the surrounding and I accidentally saw HIM. The man that I badly want to forget. Actually I'm expecting this but there's still a goosebumps everytime I see him. I. don't know why. As I took a glass of juice. "Hey Travis, you're here. Glad to meet you here." My friend is really that hyper. She stood up and give a hug to the man who came up from somewhere. "Well it's Wayne's birthday so I can't resist him tho I badly want to stay in bed than to go here. But I changed my mind." He coolly said as he's staring at me. Well I dunno if he's staring at me or someone's at my back.
"Thanks for coming bro. Have fun." -He just nodded at Wayne. We're already eating when someone's seated beside me. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin ko. Pigil ang aking hininga, nang maramdaman kong nakatingin siya sa akin. Ay agad kong inabot ang baso na may laman na juice at agad kong ininom. After sipping my juice. I tried to munch some sliced fruits in front of me to avoid the awkwardness.
"Here". He offered me the plate has a lots of sliced fruits.
"Thanks" I uttered and I looked at him and now I regretted it suddenly because he's now staring at me. Ako agad ang bumawi sa pagtitinginan namin. Itinuon ko na lang ang tingin ko sa harap. Someone will give a speak so I might listen instead minding the man beside me.
"Good evening everyone. Thank you for coming to Wayne's birthday celebration tonight. He'll probably happy because of y'all. Have fun everyone. Let's have toast for the birthday celebrant. Happy Birthday Dude." Sabay sabay namin tinaas ang glass wine at sabay sabay din kaming bumati ng happy birthday. Pagkatapos nun ay pumunta din sa harap si Wayne upang magbigay din ng kanyang speech.
" Well first of all thanks for this Red. Thank you for coming guys. I really appreciate it. Especially to Travis, thanks man. Everyone, let's get party." Everyone gets louder. And everybody is having fun.
"Hey Ckaress enjoy ka lang. Nakapagpaalam na tayo kina. Tita at Tito." Mukhang tipsy na si Ocean. May hawak siyang isang baso ng vodka.
"Drink moderately. Ayoko ng may kasamang lasing no." Biro ko sa kanya. She tsk and waved her hand.
"I'll just grab some foods." And she walked away from us.
Tumayo din ako at kumuha ng plate. Nakakita ako ng spring roll and chicken fillet. So I grabbed those and I also get some choco fudge. Pagkatapos kung kumuha ng pagkain ay dumeretso na ako sa table namin.As I've turn around I bumped into someone. Pag-angat ko ng ulo ko ay nasa harapan ko si Travis at nakita ko ang damit niyang natapunan ng sauce ng chicken fillet.
"OMG I'm sorry. I didn't know that you were there. I'm so sorry." Nagpapanick na ako. Kinuha ko yung tissue sa tabi at agad na pinunasan ang damit niya. I keep saying sorry at him. But he remained silent. He held my wrist and he dragged me in the powder room.
" Stop saying sorry.Will you? "-Siya na ang nagpunas ng kalat sa damit niya habang sa akin nakatingin. Kinakabahan ako kaya I can't help to bite my lower lip.
Tapos na siyang linisin ang kalat sa damit niya pero nandito pa rin kami sa loob ng powder room.
" I need to go. I'm sorry on what happened to your shirt. I didn't mean it." Sobrang nahihiya ako sa kanya. Kaya hindi ako makatingin sa mga mata niya.
"Let's talk outside." He whispered.
Hindi ko alam kung sasang-ayon ba ako o ano. I'm still scared and shy at the same time.
And now he's holding my wrist. He's walking through outside. Sa backdoor kami dumaan. I sighed after he released my wrist.
"Stop saying sorry.It's not your fault okay. "
"But -"He cut me off.
''Don't worry. I'm not mad at you. You may go now if you want. "Ang lalim ng boses niya. After he said that. I walked away from him. Babalik na ako sa loob ng harangan niya ako.
"Don't come back there. I'll drive you home instead. "Napatanga ako sa sinabi niya.
"You don't have to. I can manage to go home. I'm with Ocean by the way. "I don't understand his gesture. Is he really that kind or nah. Bakit naman niya ako ihahatid. Eh hindi naman niya ako kilala or should I say hindi na niya ako naaalala.
"I insists. Ocean got drunk so let me drive you home. Don't worry I'm not gonna do bad things to you. "He's really cool when he's talking. Damn, why am I complimenting him. What's wrong with you Ckaress. Hindi ko alam na nakatulala na pala ako sa kanya. I found it that he's staring at me.
"Okay then. I'll let Ocean know. "I finally said.
I fished out my phone on my sling bag and then I message Ocean.
After I sent message to Ocean. He guided me at the parking lot.
''You don't have to drive me home. I can manage myself. And I don't want to bother you T-travis. "As I said those I looked down biting my lips. Avoiding his stare. Cause to be honest I feel awkward whenever he's staring at me. I feel nervous when I'm with him.
"Just get in.I'll drive you home. And that's final. "He open the door for me. I have no choice but to get in .Kaya sumakay na ako baka sabihan na ako ng maarte neto. Malalim na rin ang gabi kaya mas maiigi na rin siguro ang gan'to. While we're on our way home. I keep my eyes outside the window.
"Where do you live by the way? "He asked without taking his eyes on the road.Before I answer him. I cleared my throat. Parang kasi kada mag uusap kami hindi nawawala ang kaba ko. He's really intimidating indeed.
"I lived somewhere in Northville. You can drop me off near at gate"He pulled over the car in front of the café.
"Let's drop by here a lil bit. I just wanna grab some coffee. Can you wait me here or you wanna come with me? "He asked while taking off his seatbelt. I shook my head while facing him.
"No. I'll just wait you here. Take your time tho. "Mukhang nag aalangan pa siya. But I just smiled at him.
"Okay then. "He finally said before going out.
After a few minutes he came back with 2 cups of coffee and a box of cake I guess.
"Here,Take this. I bought you hot chocolate. I just thought of you that's why. "He said while grinning at me. I saw his dimples when he grinned. I smiled back at him. As I've took his offer. He manage to drive again. While we're on our way. I am sipping my hot chocolate.
"You can't drink your coffee while you're driving. You must stop the car first so that you can drink this. "I broke the silent.
And he pulled over the car indeed near at the park. It's still 11:30 in the evening and I'm seeing the busy lights of the city.
"We can eat in here. "Uminom ulit ako sa hot chocolate na hindi pa nangangalahati. Ganun din siya.
"I wonder why. You bought me an
hot chocolate instead of coffee? "I asked while munching some brownies that he bought.
"I want you to drink hot chocolate than coffee Dia. "I stunned on what he said. Like seriously? Did he really have to say that.
"Wait. What did you just called me? "I asked him confusingly.
"Why? Can't I call you by that name? Does someone calling you by that name? "He fired back.
"How did you know my name? As far as I know I haven't introduced myself to you Mr. "He put down his cup of coffee and he faced me.
"I have my ways. "He smirked on that.
"Psh yabang. "Pabulong na sabi ko. But he just looked at me while smiling. Damn stop smiling like that please. I said on my mind.
"Can we friends Ckaress? If you don't mind. "He's asking directly to my eyes.
"Why do you wanna be my friend tho? "I fired back at him. He creased his forehead saying that 'seriously '.And I laughed at him.
"What's funny? "He asked seriously. Pigil pa din ang tawa ko habang naiiling dahil natutuwa ako sa kanya. I don't know I just found it cute. WTH. Cute ba talaga? Seriously Ckaress.
"Stop laughing okay. Fine if you don't want us to be friends. Then be mine. "Seryoso siya habang sinasabi ang mga katagang yun. He is looking at me intently. Nang makabawi na ako sa pagkabigla.
"You're kidding right? "I nervously asked. Inubos ko na ang laman ng cup ko at sa labas na lang ako natingin.
"Look at me please. "His voice now is soft. Kaya naman napatingin ako sa kanya. When our eyes met. It looks like he is captivating me.
"What are you talking about? We just met twice. You're not serious do you? "Pinilit kong patapangin ang boses ko kahit na nanginginig na ang tuhod ko dahil sa sobrang kaba. I'm still shocked right now.
"I'm dead serious here. Now let's go. I'll drive you home. It's getting late. "He finally said and he maneuver the car. He looks pissed or what. Kaya tahimik na lang ako hanggang sa nakarating na kami sa tapat ng gate ng bahay namin.
"Thanks for the ride." As I've said while unbuckling my seatbelt. He just nod at me. He still silent kaya bumaba na ako. Nagwave pa ako kahit di ko naman na siya nakikita. Dahil tinted ang kotse niya. Papasok na ako sa loob ng narinig kong humarurot ang kanyang sasakyan. Feeling ko may mali. Bakit feeling ko kasalanan ko. He just want us to be friends pero bakit ang hirap para sa akin. I went directly to my room. Mukhang tulog naman na lahat silang lahat kaya hindi ko na sila inabala. I took a quick shower and I wore my PJs. Pahiga na ako ng nagbeep ang phone ko kaya naman kinuha ko sa pouch. Nakita ko na may unregistered number ang nagtext. I still open the message.

Biglang naalala ko si Travis. Siya lang naman ang magtatangkang magtext sa akin ng gan'to. I didn't reply him. Nilapag ko na ang phone sa bedside table ko at pinikit na ang mata ko. Hanggang sa nilamon na ako ng antok. I can't help but to smile. It was tiring but it's fine with me.
