Lilly's p.o.v

The specialist walked back into the room with my baby's test results looking puzzled. At that point I knew she wasn't a werewolf but I still wanted to hear it from him. For the past few days, I have been carefully watching Taylin and James to see how they interact with each other but all they do is smile, blush then look away. I mean, it's really cute but those two need to start talking! The strength of a bond will only get stronger as time goes by and I really don't see how they aren't just attacking each other. Maybe the witch mate bond isn't as strong as a werewolves mate bond. I guess we will find out when the specialist decides to talk.

Right now I'm holding Taylin's hand, well she is squeezing the crap out of my hand but I don't show if it hurts me because I want to be strong for my baby. On the other hand, literally, I was squeezing John's hand very tightly but he took it like the man he is...my man. If he can handle me and all my craziness then he can handle any woman. When we were growing up me and him just always seemed to attract to each other like magnets. One way or another we found each other, even if we wanted to get away from each other for a while.

"So...." the specialist said and we all leaned forwards a bit for him to continue but it doesn't seem like he is going to say anything yet.

"So?" I said, being the most impatient person ever.

"Well, you see I've never experienced this before," the guy said and rubbed his forehead. "Taylin doesn't have the werewolf gene but in her blood work there's something else that is odd..." I looked at John knowing what the specialist was going to say.

"Okay...and?" I said wanting to just get the information out of him.

"Well, I don't know if this is for sure but it seems she has the witch gene..." the specialist said and I nodded my head. "How is that even possible?"

"Well, somebody in our line of history must have been a witch but the gene just skipped many generations because I have it and so does Taylin," I said. "When do you think she will start being able to do things?"

"I'm not a witch specialist so I have no clue," he said then his head shot up and he looked at me in surprise. "Wait, you say that you have the witch gene, too? How is that even possible to be a witch and a werewolf?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," I told him.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to do a little more research," he said. "But I will need a blood sample from you." I was a little skeptic until I looked at John and he gave me a look that said 'You wanted to know more information.' So of course I agreed to give him some blood work. After that was done me and my family headed home. It was a quiet ride and every so often I would look back at my baby girl and see her sad face. I know she really wanted to be a werewolf, to be normal but she's not alone. Many people are witches that don't know it and I'm going to do my best to teach my baby girl and her mate how to control what they can do but I will never teach them the black magic a witch can do. It's not something I want them doing near each other.
