The Briellae thirst across the internet is real, and we don't blame you for hopping on the train. It's no secret how cute Stellae and Brie Larson look together, and how many hints they both seem to be throwing towards the concept of it being an actual thing. But a new fan theory says this could all just be a red herring.
Though much smaller and more obscure, the idea of shipping Stellae and Hayley Kiyoko is nothing new to either of their fans. There was even buzz and speculation about it when Hayley Kiyoko began openly supporting and befriending Stellae during her rise to fame. Both stars have laughed it off, but the notion still remains.
Kiyoko has even left some flirtatious comments under Stellae's social media posts, that have mostly been bushed off as her cheering on #TeamBriellae. But, under a different light, the words take a whole new meaning. With both of them being confirmed lesbians and having a long-standing friendship, it's more plausible than you'd think.
One of their most shippable moments has been when the two sang a duet cover of Kiyoko's most popular song, Girls Like Girls during a radio interview. And the looks they shared... well, you'll just have to see it for yourself.
Though Stellae's thirst over Brie Larson certainly throws a wrench into this theory, it doesn't completely disprove it. It's entirely possible -and even speculated by some fans- that the thirst could've been real at one point, but is now only kept on to keep fans off of the scent of the real relationship happening behind closed curtains.
With that theory, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that SPACE GIRL is actually about Hayley Kiyoko. Because let's face it, our Lesbian Jesus is definitely out of this world.
It may be a far-fetched theory, and one that seems to coincide with some fans of Stellae disliking Brie Larson and looking for alternatives, but stranger has been true.
