If you're not on the in with the rest of the internet, you probably don't know about it's latest obsession. That's why we're here, to fill you in on all the juicy gossip you've missed over the past few days.

Sloane Michelle Farrington, or as you probably know her by her stage name Stellae, is the latest indie singer to hit the ground running. Though her first album Tiny Galaxies dropped in July of last year, it surged in popularity when the song Stardust started to climb the charts in late December. Stardust was quickly followed by songs black heart baby and takemebythethroat, and with that Stellae quickly became the hottest new indie artist. Her haunting voice and unique lyrics have struck a chord with indie and alternative girls everywhere, and Stellae has already been given the title of "one of the hottest new artists of 2019" in a Billboard article. The entire Tiny Galaxies album is definitely worth the listen, and songs like Adderall. Binge. are also starting to make their climb to fame. (Our personal favourite song is Happy Liar)

One of the arguably best qualities of Stellae (it's pronounced 'Stell-eye', as Stellae has pointed out too many times) outside of her music is her openness with her sexuality. Stellae identifies as a lesbian, and her songs A Goodbye You Won't Regret and Dead Weight have both been confirmed to be about an ex-girlfriend of hers, with Dead Weight explicitly using female pronouns. In an interview, Stellae said, "I'm gay, and that's that. If a straight artist wrote the same songs I did but about a man, no one would bat an eye and it'd be your typical break-up song. I want my music to be treated with the same respect." She hasn't been afraid to demand equal respect for other queer artists and is even good friends with Hayley Kiyoko. 

And like any other lesbian, Stellae has been a hopeless dork with thirst tweets galore over her very public crush, that happens to be on no one other than the new Marvel queen, Brie Larson.

Though Stellae's thirst tweets have flown under the radar for most of her career, her rise to fame has put them under the spotlight, especially since she's now broken a million followers on both Instagram and Twitter. Her fans have been tagging Brie Larson en mass, trying to get a response from Larson. Though no response has been got so far, Stellae only seems to be amping up the thirst with Captain Marvel coming out in a month.

Brie Larson herself has never publically stated her sexuality, though there has been heavy speculation about her being queer in some capacity. She's publically complimented and even flirted with her Marvel co-star, bisexual Tessa Thompson who plays Valkryie. Larson has also lobbied for her Marvel character Carol Danvers to have a girlfriend in upcoming movies, stating that the MCU needs proper LGBTQ+ representation and honestly, we're 100% with her on that.

Because of Stellae's (frankly adorable) crush on Larson, and Larson's ambiguous sexuality, the ship 'Briellae' has been born. The hashtag 'TeamBriellae' was even trending on Twitter for a day, making fangirls everywhere squeal with delight.
