Remington's POV

I spent another half an hour just holding Dahlia in my arms and walking with her around the garden. My heart was flying after knowing she loved me back and she trusted me. I've never met anyone so sweet and more beautiful than her in my life and I wished I had known her more since the beginning when I met her so many years ago. I swore that I was going to make up for the time lost and I didn't care what anybody thinks. I took her to a special spot in the gardens where we grew elegant, black dahlias. I handed her one and she took it and smiled so beautifully, which made my heart soar higher.

"Dahlia", I said to her as I kissed her against a wall of vines and blossoms, "Yes, Remington?", she answered back running her hands through my hair. "Why were you dead-set on me dating your sister?", I asked her and then she stopped kissing me for a moment to answer my question. "I can't explain why I did that, not until I'm ready to tell you. But can you keep us a secret to avoid hurting my sister's feelings until I'm ready to tell her?" I looked at her and she seemed to want to protect her sister, but something told me she was protecting something else too. I nodded and said, "Of course, my little rag doll", and she smiled before retuning to my lips and holding me so closely.

I walked her back to her room and kissed her one last time before saying goodnight and returning to mine. I laid on my bed just thinking about Dahlia and happier than hell that she loved me back and I hoped to make her happy as long as she was with me. How in the world did I ever exist without an angel like her by my side? If I ever lose her again, I'll go insane and won't be able to recover without the love of my life and my savior by my side.

The next morning, I was hoping to see Dahlia and greet her for the day, but Rose waiting outside my door with a rose in her hand and batting her eyes at me. "Good morning, Prince Remington", she greeted with a suggestive smile, "would you make me the happiest woman alive and take me to breakfast?" A huge part of me would rather take Dahlia, but I had to respect her wishes and so I nodded and left her down to the kitchen.

After breakfast, the girls had school while Dahlia stayed here to help her mother with her work. Sebastian had to travel elsewhere to meet up with his fiancée and Emerson was still in his room working on his art. All I wanted was to spend more time with Dahlia, but I didn't want to get her in trouble. I was able to catch her exiting out of her mother's workstation with some clothing materials and I pulled her aside for a moment to kiss her quietly behind a wall.

"Remington", she warned, "I can't do this right now, my mother needs me." I groaned in disappointment and asked, "Is there any way I can spend some time with you today?" She thought about I found a moment and suggested, "I could ask my mother if I could travel into town and buy more material and it'll take about an hour or so to get everything we need." I smiled as she raised her brows and I kissed her once more before she went back to her business.

A couple of minutes after she went back to her mother, she came back out to meet me downstairs and declare, "Looks like we'll need some more satin material."I grinned and asked for Sophie to have Dahlia ready to go into town. When she was properly dressed, she looked so lovely in her outfit, I couldn't help but fall in love with her all over again.

"I've never worn anything like this outside", she commented while admiring it, "It feels like I'm a bit overdressed for what we're going to do

"I've never worn anything like this outside", she commented while admiring it, "It feels like I'm a bit overdressed for what we're going to do." I stepped closer and held her closer to me and whispered in her ear, "You look perfect, my sweetness." I felt her tense up a bit and grinned as I offered her my arm and she took it before stepping out of the castle and I helped her into one of the carriages before entering myself and sitting close to her.

She looked so beautiful looking out the window and her hand holding mine was so warm, I couldn't help but place my hand on her cheek and steal a kiss from her. She kissed me back and then giggled a little, which made me laugh. "Poor little prince can't get enough of his precious Dahlia", she joked, and I pulled her closer to me and kissed her neck gently which made her gasp lightly and then I remarked, "You got that right." She looked down to hide her blushing face and I kissed her forehead as she buried her face in my shoulder.

When we finally got to town, a few people were already bowing down to me and showing respect for me as I greeted each of them and thanked them for being so kind. "Do you ever get used to this?", Dahlia asked me and I told her, "Well, I don't let it go to my head and turn me into an asshole." "Oh", we walked to the best material supply store in town and I paid for it and we still had some time before we had to go back so I took her into a small pub and had lunch with her before sneaking behind the building to kiss her passionately and hold her tightly and close to me.

"I had fun today", Dahlia told me as we went back to the carriage and started traveling back to the castle, "I just wish it had lasted longer." I placed my hand on her cheek and caressed my thumb over it as I looked in her eyes and smiled at her before kissing her cheek. "Dahlia, have you ever been to a ball?" My question threw her off and made her confused, "Um, no. Why?" I bit my lip and smiled deviously as I rested my forehead on hers and made her nervous, "I think it's time you went to one. At our castle. Tomorrow night."

She gasped in surprise at my proposal and beamed so brightly as she responded with excitement, "Oh my gosh, Remington! I-I don't know what to say! Y-You want to take me to your ball? But-" I placed a gentle finger on her lips to interrupt her politely, "Shhh. It's a masquerade ball, so you get to dance with me without anyone knowing it's you but you and me. I'll give you a special mask so I know it's you. Now say yes if you want to dance with me tomorrow." I took my hand away and with a red face and embarrassed smile, she stated with joy in her quiet and shy tone.

"Yes."
