Ming Han was Sunmi's first girlfriend, and when Sunmi started realizing and discovering her sexuality. Sunmi and Ming Han loved each other a lot, but Ming Han was an exchange student from China, and she eventually had to go back after she finished university. Sunmi wasn't ready to deal with a long-distance relationship while still being an idol so she called it quits.

Josephine, formerly James, is a trans female, who when the pair first met, was still transitioning and a drag queen. Sunmi helped Josephine accept the full transition and Josephine helped Sunmi comfirm her sexual orientation and the two broke up after exactly a year of dating due to Josephine moving to Europe to be with her friends and being in a more accepting country.

This adorable couple met after a Music Bank Performance they did together. Everything was smooth sailing until the last month they were together, when they were being distanced by work and their own companies, whom had begun to suspect something was going on. As a result of this pressure, the paid ended up taking a break, and Sunmi decided to meet new people to forget about Shownu.

They met during Sunmi's surprise birthday party in 2017. Even though Sunmi thought Jay was attractive, she was lying to herself. Eventually she realized he was just a rebound and that she missed being with Shownu. She ended up breaking up with him after explaining everything.
