T H E F O R E S T H U M S with life all around me. I twirl about, gazing up at the canopy, searching for the birds that sing sweetly. The sun breaks through the cracks, lighting up the dirt path ahead of me, decorated with outgrown roots, wildflowers and fallen leaves that crunch beneath my bare feet. I trudge on, taking in the fragrance of minty grass and the damp earth. Each breath is like water, fresh and cleansing, flowing freely into my lungs.
"Eden" I heard my mother holler but I continued my prowl into the woods, behind my home I couldn't help the obsession I had with nature It's completely calming and so serene
"Eden, your father is getting impatient" she once again screamed sounding more annoyed than the first time I continued to ignore her as I Buried my toes into the wet dirt below my feet, it had been raining a lot the past three days and once the horrid thunderstorm had passed I couldn't stop myself from wanting to be out here and roaming with the other animals
"Eden no don't do that" my mother's voice came breaking the quiet isolation I had, her warm fingers wrapped softly around my forearm pulling me away from something she so dearly detested I did
"You can't do that little bird, no more it's bad for your skin" she tsked shaking her head and dragging me back to our backyard towards the hose stationed near the garden
"Mommy," I muttered as she yanked the hose from its holder, she hummed in response before turning on the water and directing it to my dirty feet
"Why can't I be in the forest" I pouted starring up at her
"Eden, your father made it very clear" she grumbled looking at me her eyes went wide and instantly softened, she couldn't be mad for long, as she was a nurturing nymph fairy she had a soft side for every and anything living or inanimate, Turning off the hose she dried her hands on the tunics skirt before walking over to me and cupping my rosey cheeks
"Little Bird, you know our kind isn't very much loved." She paused starring at me and trying to choose the right words "The Forest breaks our border between werewolf territory"
"they're very scary, and god knows what they would do to such a little succubus" she muttered shaking her head furiously, fear laminating her eyes I nodded my head agreeing with her instantly I had only met one alpha wolf ever in my life and it was purely by accident and honestly, I wouldn't wanna meet another one ever again.
"Let's go before dinner gets cold" she whispered dragging me through the house doors, the foods smell instantly attacking all my good senses. seconds, later a clear view of my five other siblings and father at the top of the dinner table came making me relish in how much i loved my large bountiful family.
