I was home earlier than usual bacause my mom was on half-day today at work. She decided to drive me home merself and she also said that she needed me to help her think and do some welcoming for our new neighbors.
"What time are they coming?" I asked, looking out the window.
"I honestly don't know," my mom replied," all I know is that they'll be here sometime today."
We have this family tradition wherein we welcome our new neighbors. My dad started this. Well, before he passed away. This was one of the memories that I would never forget about him. We had about five neighbors now. This is the sixth.
"Holly, can you stop staring outside the window and help me prepare this cake?" my mom asked, shouting from the kitchen.
"Yeah, mom. I'll be there in a second," was my reply.
We finished the cake in no time. It was strawberry-flavored with some icing shaped like roses. We made two actually. One for us, one for them. It tasted awesome!!
Right now, since we finished making the cake, making banners, etc., I started doing my homework on my desk on front of the window.
As I was doing my research, an question popped into my mind.
What is One Direction anyway?
I quickly opened a new tab and typed "One Direction". I clicked the fisrt thing that entered the screen.
This is what it said:
One Direction are an English boy band formed in London in 2010, consisting of members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. "ohh.. so this is one direction.. Zayn is part of them. So Harry was the dude with the curly hair a while ago and Niall was the one with the yellow hair.. The one wearing stripes was Louis and Liam was the other one..." I realized.
Then I saw a VERY familiar van park on front of our house.
I instantly knew who they are..
"Holly! Our new neighbors are here!" mom said, telling me to help her greet them with the strawberry cake.
"oh fudge," was all I can say. I followed my mom out the door to meet our neighbors for the second time of the day..
