The woman who had Sparta at her feeT
Hail to the loyal Queen, the brave and tougH
Ruling an epic country under waR
Enduring the pain, fighting to be freE
Empowering and making them believE
Having her own husband away to marcH
Under a gray sky she bid him adieU
Never would Queen Gorgo see him agaiN
Destined was King Leonidas’ enD
Risen troop of three hundred; one warrioR
Ended his life against Xerxes’ empirE
Death took the King, but the King was freeD.
Much pain to the poor Queen’s heart, her lost geM
Even though her once free heart was no morE
No one had been Queen to a better maN
