The next morning, Via woke up to hear light sounds from the kitchen.

Hmm is he cooking?

Pulling on a dark sweater, she made her way over to the kitchen.

Seeing Alecai bent over the stove,  a focused expression on his face, she smiled.

"Can I?"

Without turning around, Alecai nodded.

"Mm of course."

He started for a moment when he felt gentle arms wrap around his waist.

He thought she meant the food. . .

"You know, someone once told me that these types of hugs are the most meaningful."

"Why?"

"Because they show you that no matter what, you have someone at your back who cares for you."

Alecai stilled.

"Thank you."

"For what?" Via gave him a funny smile. He was the one that was making the breakfast and offering to bring her back, what was there to thank? Plus they both knew that they would declare their relationship sooner or later so it definitely isn't that. . .

"This is long overdue, but thank you for that day in the garden. And that you for being in my life."

"Aw Cai, you make my heart happy."

Alecai chuckled.

Even Via Dos knew how to act cute when she wanted to.

And just like this, the one night Alecai planned to spend turned into three.

On the second day, he was there, the two of them took a stroll around the lake.

Wrapped up in a thick scarf, Via looked up at Alecai, who was covered in just as many, or more layers.

"Cold?" She watched him blow on his hands before taking them into her own and pulling one in her pocket.

"W-what is this?" Alecai couldn't help but smile. Although neither he or Via was incredibly physical people, little gestures like these were the ones that touched him the most.

"Your welcome." Via turned her face to Alecai, her smile showing through her eyes.

Then as he was about to unlock the door to the cabin, Alecai felt something cold and hard hit his shoulder.

"Hey!" He looked around and saw Via's white coat by a tree.

"Oh you better watch out!"

. . .

Their last night at the cabin was the coldest.

While the heating was on full blast, Via still saw that Cai was a bit unaccustomed to the cold.

She had had several weeks to adjust, but he had only been there for a few days, so naturally, he was unequipped for the cold.

Seeing his huddled figure on the couch, Via sighed.

"You can take the bed today."

"No. . . I'll feel bad. How about we share?" Alecai gave the suggestion without too much thought.

The past few days, they had been alternating. The heating circulated better in the bedroom, but the living room had a fireplace.

Today was Via's turn in the bedroom. But seeing Cai, she couldn't help but feel bad.

"Okay sure." Via agreed. She was aware that they had never been so close before but also understood that they were both adults. They did not plan to do anything, except sleep, and moreover, respected each other too much to cross any boundaries already set.

The next morning, they woke up in each other's arms.

Yawning Via rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

"Let's go home today."
