Chapter 26: break time

Addison's pov

Me and chase are back at the pack house and we run upstairs to our room

I get in there with chase's huge shirt on while he has on his jeans and no shirt

I see chase's mother holding brady and I scream

I run over and hug him

"I missed you baby. I missed you so much" I say crying

He looks at me and smiles

"Daddy missed you to buddy" chase says sitting beside me

"Da da" brady says smiling

I gasp "baby you said your first words!" I exclaim picking him up and spinning him in the air

I put him down and he grabs the bed

He pulls himself up and holds onto the edge and walks

He looks at chase and let's go of the bed

He walks clumsily and slowly but gets to chase all by himself

I cry and hug him as if my life depended on it

"My son is amazing!" chase yells laughing

I laugh to and carry brady downstairs

Everyone looks at us in awe and I just smile

"My baby said his first words!" I cheer out

The whole room erupts in cheers

"And my baby walked for the first time!" I say smiling wider

Every one is cheering and changing Brady's name

All he does is smile his million dollar smile

I kiss chase and he smiles into the kiss

"I'm so glad everything is turning out ok" I say smiling

"I'm just glad I got you two back" he says wrapping his arm around my waits and kissing my forehead as we watch everyone take turns giving brady kisses on the cheek

"Come with me" chase says taking my hand

He nods at my mom and she just smiles at us

"I have some news" chase starts off in a serious tone

"Chase your scaring me" I say sitting on the couch in his office

"Baby I have to leave for 2 months" he says diverting his gaze from me

I feely eyes water as I just look at him

"Are you serious?" I croak out with my voice cracking

"I'm sorry. A pack is having trouble with attacks and they called me to help them. They've helped me many of times and I can't say no" he says "baby don't cry"

I just let it all out

"Please don't go" I beg jumping up and sitting in his lap

"I have no choice Addison!" he snaps in his alpha tone

I stand up and just look at him

"Addison" he says trying to grab my arm

I jerk back and just look at him

"You're leaving for 2 months. You used your alpha tone and snapped at me" I say backing up to the door

"Baby don't go" he says standing up

In no time I swiftly run out of the room with tears pouring down my face

I go through the crowd of people and get outside

I shift and just run

I run until I collapse

I look around a and have no clue where I am

I shift back and just curl up in a ball and cry

I cry because chase is leaving me

I cry because he snapped at me

I cry because I don't know how to tell him That I go into my heat tomorrow

Chase's pov

She runs out of the room and I try to catch her

She moves through the crowd of people but I get stuck in them

I push everyone out of my way but I'm to late

She's already shifted and left

I shift and try mind linking her but she has blocked me

I follow her scent and hear her crying

I know she doesn't hear me yet

My heart breaks at the sight of her make up running down her beautiful face

I watch her put her face in her hands and just sob

I walk slowly over to her and pick her up and pull her into my lap

She wraps her Leah's around me and just cries

"Please take me with you. Don't leave me here alone. I'm scared" she says looking at me

"Baby I will try to take you. But please tell me. What are you scared of?" I ask wiping her tears off

"I'm scared someone will get me again. That's why I don't want you to leave me but there is one more reason" She says looking away from him

"Addison. What are you not telling me?" I ask looking into her eyes

"Chase I go into my heat tomorrow" she says
