Okay, so. I’m going to start writing this in 1st person instead of 3rd because some things just aren’t going as planned. I should be getting the other chapters updated to 1st person as well, but I'm really busy with school starting. AP courses are extremely time consuming, but I will update ASAP.

Alex’s POV

Chapter 6

I woke up next to Jason in his room, encircled in his arms. I couldn’t help but to feel like everything was perfect, his face was so contempt and last night was so amazing it felt like a dream. I slipped out the bed, taking the sheet with me. I turned and noticed Jason’s boxers were on his body, he must have gotten up earlier.

After taking a shower and doing the whole morning routine, I put my hair up into a messy bun and headed downstairs with my phone in hand.

I noticed the miss call and a text from me parents and automatically felt my heart ache, I missed them so much. ‘Alex, please FaceTime us when you get up. We have something important to talk to you about,’ was all the text said.

I walked into the kitchen and saw just the man I was looking for. “Good morning Wally.” I sang happily.

Mr. Higgins looked at me for a second and then took another sip of his coffee. “Alex, you know that I love you like you were my own daughter, but you are way to cheerful in the mornings.” He told me.

I couldn’t help but to laugh, “Only when I see you Wally.” I teased him. “Hey, would you mind if I used the computer in your study?” She asked

He just nodded and poured another cup off coffee for me. “You never have to ask for anything here Alex.” He said to me, smiling softly. “How did Jason do last night?” I could tell he was trying to act casual, but I saw the concerned parenting side of him coming out. He was a hard ass sometimes, but I have never met a nicer man.

“He did really well, he might even have a sponsor and a chance at an upper scale ring.”

“That’s great. I’ll congratulate him when he gets up. Should I tell him you’re in the study?”

I poured some cream into my coffee and added a little Truvia. “Yes, if you wouldn’t mind. Thanks for letting me stay here so much, I get kind of lonely at home.” I admitted, pursing my lips a little.

Mr. Higgins was a man of many talents. He could make you smile when you were sad, make you laugh at the most serious situations, but he also knew when he had to actually be serious. But one thing he wasn’t good at was showing affection. I think that’s why I was so shocked by what he did next.

Mr. Higgins was hugging me; he was actually hugging me. “Alex, I love having you here. You make Janie and Jason so happy. Having my kids living in happiness, that is every parents dream. It’s my greatest treasure to know that all my children are happy.” He told me, pulling away.

I could keep the big ass grin off my face. “You remember that next time I’m being cheerful in the morning.” I told him, trying act serious. I broke my cover when I was walking away though, curse my damn laughter.

I sat down at the desk and cut on Mr. Higgins iMac, feeling stupid that I had left all my electronics back at the house. As I logged into my FaceTime account and called my parents, I began worrying about what was so important that I had to call them as soon as I woke up.

“Honey!” My mom said when she answered. “We miss you so much.” She added, moving over so my dad could sit next to her.

Dad was looking at me with a happy smile. “How are you doing?” He asked me.
