Katrina came across a family member who tells her some life-changing news.

Chapter 21

Pre-Amnesia

KATRINA'S POV

"Amnesia? Me? You're kidding."

What the hell is she talking about? Is she for real? God.

"Does it look like I would joke about something as serious as this?" She said with a straight face.

I just looked at there.

"Doesn't it all start to make sense now? You can't remember your mom or anything since you moved to Santa Monica?"

I frowned. "We moved? From where?"

"San Francisco."

"Why did we move?"

"I think we should discuss this with your dad."

"No kidding."

"PING!"

I got a text from Cassidy.

"K! I'm sorry. Something came up, I can't make it. Maybe next time? I'm really sorry."

"Hey, why don't I take you shopping? Your mom and I always shop when we're upset."

I nodded and tried to force a smile.

I can't believe it.

I have Amnesia.

I had a life before this.

A life that I can't remember even if I tried.

They're right.

The truth does hurt.

Who was the Katrina pre-amnesia?

Why did I have amnesia?

Is that why Mom left? She can't deal with having an amnesiac for a daughter?

Answers just lead to more questions.

I want my memory back.

Aunt Maggie bought me tons of clothes from Forever 21, Brandy Melville, Pacsun, and American Apparel.

She is filthy rich.

Maybe I should be a rich aunt who spoils her nieces and nephews and travels around the world.

Magnolia Olivia Hermoso. Wow. I like Aunt Maggie's name. She's a Victoria's Secret Angel. I'm so lucky to be related to her.

She took me to Victoria's Secret and got me free underwear. I love Aunt Maggie.

After shopping, we drove back to my house.

"Hey, Dad. Look who's here!"

"Mags?"

"Michael!"

Aunt Maggie ran to give Dad a hug. I love reunions.

"I didn't know you were in town."

"Well, now you know."

"How long are you gonna be here?"

"Until next weekend."

"Labor Day weekend?"

"Yup!"

"That's great!"

"Don't get mad, but I told Katrina about her condition."

I saw Dad frown.

"Why did you tell her that?"
