sooooooo idk if this is correct but,,,,, isn't the refuge a jail for street,,,boys?? like it makes more sense for girls on the street to be sent to workshops or orphanages or whatever,,,,..

i'm not sure if it's just me or not so don't bully me please and thank you but i absolutely hATE it when one of the newsies gets thrown in the refuge and there's one (1) single gorl in the entire damn building,,, in what world does that make sense???

if you interpret the refuge to be a co-ed jail situation, have at it-good for you, bUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY BE CONSISTENT

there would need to be more than just uno goil and there would also probably need to be separate rooms/cells/whatever for the different genders

it just makes more sense that way

unrelated but still kinda related, you could make your characters Flaming Homosexuals ™ and still have them meet in the refuge which is something i wish i could read because that would be so 👏 damn 👏 precious 👏

plus, you wouldn't have to worry about capturing what a woman's experience in the refuge would be (because it would definitely be different than a guys)

i have yet to find a fic that really shows what it would be like for a girl in the refuge without over exaggerating it or what not
(this would be a totally dope read so someone should write it )
