Character Introduction

· GuQingPei – Uke. 33 years old at start of story, smart, clever, warm, refined, cultured, cares very much about appearance, prestige, is very good with his words. Left home at the age of 15 to climb up the career ladder in Beijing. Hired to guide YuanYang, which ultimately led to "opposing" ill-fated relationship. 

· YuanYang – Seme. 22 years old. Rebellious, hot-tempered, wealthy, proud and arrogant, ex-soldier, forced by his father to be guided by GuQingPei to learn business.

· YuanLiJiang – 50 or so years old, YuanYang's father, usually gentle and courteous, poised and graceful. The Yuan family is prominent in Beijing as they are descendants of senior communist.

· WuJingLan – YuanYang's mother, an industrious, spirited, strong woman. She is strict but very competent.

· PengFang – YuanYang's close friend and support. The person who could read into YuanYang's mind and heart before YuanYang come to realize it.

· ZhaoYuan – GuQingPei's ex-wife. Although they are divorced, they remained good-close friends. GuQingPei is especially caring towards her because he blames himself for their divorce and for ruining her life. She comes to GuQingPei to talk once in a while.
