Lily P.O.V.

Today the new academic year started and I was glad to see Eve again, because we had not managed to meet us during the winter holidays. Eve is also always very busy. Recreational stress, which is the word she like to use for. The alarm clock rang, I jumped motivated out of bed and stretched. I padded over to the window and pulled the curtains aside, even the sun smiled at me. The temperatures were a little bit strange because, in mid-January, actually there should be at least some snow. But to me it was all right, I've never been a winter person. I watched the pigeons, which fought to a piece of bread, down the sidewalk. Then I remembered that Louis had called the pigeon in the park, Kevin. Kevin. How do you even get the idea that you're giving a pigeon a name? Crazy. Grinning, I took one last look out onto the empty park and went to my closet. After I had stared several minutes at the contents, I decided for my black knit sweater, embroidered with pearls, and my red and black tartan leggings. I laid all this carefully on the bed. Before I take a shower, I need a cup of hot tea.

With the cup in my left hand and notebooks in the right hand I walked through the living room gathered my school stuff together and tried to stuff everything in my bag. As far as I had found everything I hopped down the hall, into the bathroom, and almost spilled the contents of the cup over my shirt. Don't push your luck. I put the tea next to the sink, slipped out of my pajamas, and stood under the shower.

Oh no, I am not going out into the cold hallway! I had forgotten to take the fresh cloths with me and I sprinted, only wearing a towel, in my room. Done. I quickly got dressed, slipped into boots and coat, made sure that I had the apartment keys with me and went on my way to the subway station.

I should go up early more often so I wouldn't be already stressed in the morning. With the headphones in my ears, I stood on the platform and waited for my subway. A soft Pling interrupted the chorus of Penny Lane. Have a nice day at school :) stood on the display, when I pulled the phone out of my pocket. I probably looked like I had not all marbles, as I stood there, between all business women with their short skirts and perfect hairstyles, grinning stupidly at my phone. I'm sure Niall has an alarm clock set to send away the text message at time, he's not exactly what you would call a early riser. I just wanted to write back, as the subway came and so I put the phone back quickly and squeezed me to the others in the compartment.

Since Niall was with me last week, we texted regularly. It did me good to write with him and he encouraged me again and again. Usually he told me what he had just eaten, or what movie he watched. Only about Louis he never lost a word about we had made something of a silent agreement. He still hadn't got in touch with me and slowly I lost the faith in him.

"What are you doing here?" Eve greeted me as I stepped, through the gate, into the entrance hall of the university. "Today I am simply motivated, how were the holidays?" I said happily and hugged her. "Way too short as always." She laughed and linked arms with me. "How is it?" She wanted me to know when we walked along the corridor to the west wing. "How is what? Eve you know you shouldn't always talk in riddles." Simply changes the subject in the middle of the conversation and assumes that I know what she is talking about. "Well, probably the fact you're in a realationship with Louis Tomlinson." Quickly, I held out my hand to her mouth and hissed, "Shh! Have you taken leave of your senses! You can't scream around, maybe you also want to hang it out at the black board!" Frantically I looked around but it seemed that none of the other students was interested. "Ould u leas ake yo and of my outh." "Only if you promise that this issue remains between us." "Promise." She muttered trough my fingers. "And?" Eve asked softly now, as I had finally taken my hand from her mouth. "We are not together." I admitted sheepishly. "Do not tell me he still hasn't called." I shook my head. "Niall said that Louis believes he is bad for me and I'm better off without him." "I don't want be so tactless but can you get me the number of Niall, he looks really cute." "Eve!" I stared at her in disbelief and laughed. "What? Is it a crime to ask questions." "Yeah, yeah come on my course is about to start and I don't want to be late." "Do not think that you can get away with this." She laughed and followed me.

It was gray and dreary, from the wonderful morning nothing more was to be seen, instead the fog moved through the streets now. Just the thought of it that I had to walk home in this weather spoiled my appetite. I sat in the dining room and poked listlessly in my food and waited for Eve to join me. "What a shame that you are forgiven." Eve slammed her books peppy on the table, so I winced with fear, and sat down next to me. I just opened my mouth to contradict her, but she spoke even further: "Because the new English substitute teacher, from Cambridge is really cute." she looked dreamy at the door as if she hoped he would ride through it on a white horse and take her with him. "Earth to Eve." I snapped in front of her face and thus pulled her out of her daydream. "What? I'm allowed to dream."Actually, I can dream too! But for some reason I feel guilty when I think of it that I cloud like someone other than Louis. But who could even keep up with his mussed brown hair and his sweet smile. Oh and not to forget, his blue eyes that drive me every time out of my mind. I sighed."Either you're in love or on drugs, perhaps both." Eve stated and brought me back to earth. The truth is I idealize Louis and this doesn't look like me at all. He is and will remain an idiot! ...A lovable idiot. That's enough! "Nothing of both." I replied annoyed and pushed my plate over to Eve, because she pilfered anyway my fries the whole time. "Lily Sweety listen to me, I think it's best if you call him or even better you pay him a visit." I grumbled to myself. "Otherwise," she continued, "I fear the story will run in the sand and that would be indeed a shame." No way, I won't sweep everything under the rug so easily. Oh why must she always be right! "You know what Eve, I'm going to do this because actually I really like him." Eve squealed excitedly and clapped her hands together. "How cool, soon you will get to know all possible Stars and ye shall be the dream couple on the red carpet." Sometimes she behaves worse than my little cousin. "Again?" I asked with a grin. "You can't tell me that you've never thought of all the benefits that entails if you would date a world star." I thought for a moment. No, I did't think of it for a single moment because after all I met Louis as ordinary men and that is more important to me than all his glory... That's it! "You're a sweetheart, thank you!" I grabbed my bag and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I have to go now, I'll call you later." I told Eve and stood up. With a wink, she waved me off: "That's okay. Get him, honey."

Several students run over, overtaken a runner and therefore nearly got hit by a car on the crosswalk, almost stuck in the turnstile at the subway and just barely caught the tube. All in all, I have survived the way from the University to the subway station. No I'm not stressed. I don't know why but I felt that I had to get to Louis as soon as possible, since it would otherwise be too late. I got out and rode the escalator up. It just shivered me because up here it was much cooler than down on the platform. Momentary I wasn't sure in which direction the apartment was but remembered the path I had taken on Christmas Eve. What if he is not at home? That just came to my mind as I was halfway there. In case of need Liam must listen to me. At the front door I stopped and not only because I was so out of breath. Suddenly I wasn't so sure if the idea was so brilliant as I had thought at first. I didn't know how long I had been standing there but the courage now left me almost completely and I was about to leave when the door opened. "Lily?"
