"Jake, you zoned out again, am I boring you ?"

"No I like hearing your stories."

"Well I wanna hear more about you."

Chresanto was intrigued by Jacob. He wanted to know everything about his peer: what troubles him, how to make it better, how he can help etc... He had never felt this way towards any one ever, except for his family but this was a different feeling. He couldn't put his finger on what it was but he knew for a fact that Jacob was going to play an important role in his life.

"There isn't much to say really. I'm Jacob, I live with a foster famiky. I have schizophrenia which is fancy for crazy dudes that hear voices, kinda like that wrestler Randy Orton's theme song ' I hear voices in my head, they talk to me they understand' yeah that's me except- never mind "

"No I wanna hear it, please." Chresanto asked trying his best to do a puppy dog face.

Jacob sighed.

"Okay we-"

Jacob was cut off by the schools security guard. He was big and bulky and intimidated Jacob, Chresanto on the other hand was not fazed by him. In fact he was pretty annoyed at the fact they where interrupted.

"Why are you two here and not in class ? Get up, your going to the heads office."

"Listen mr," Chresanto peered at his name tag."Yusif this is just a misunderstanding ms em... Mrs Jackson told us to gather some fruit for the dinner ladies."

Roc silently prayed that their was a Mrs Jackson, after all there was one in about every school he's ever been to.

"Okay then where's the fruit you've collected any why are you sitting down." Asked the Mr Yusif, trying to catch them out.
Because Chres was fresh out if lies, he nudged Jacob indicating it was his turn to spin the web of lies.

"Well erm you see we just got here and we're sitting down cause' we're tired, we raced all the way here..."

"This is a little shady. Crazy, just go somewhere new kid follow me." the security guard said waving his hand dismissively.

The two teens got up, Chresanto grasped Jacobs wrist and gripped it tightly. He was fuming. He didn't understand how people could be so cold. Jacob simply wriggled out of his grasp before giving of a weak smile and then leaving.

"You can go inside." Mr Yusif grumbled

Roc was shocked. It was obvious that the teacher covered for him and made a mental note to thank her.

Chres gave the guard a smirk before entering a messy office with boxes of paper and junk. The walls where covered with cheesy poster saying things like 'Believe in yourself' and 'stand up to bullies.'

"Hi, I'm sorry for using you as apart if a lie I was only trying to do something good.l"

A pretty dark skinned and surprisingly young woman emerged from the junk with a huge grin.

"It's okay kid. I'm Mrs Jackson but call me Indie, I don't wanna sound old." She said in a cheery tone." I'm the new health and social care teacher and the schools counsiler."

"Ok, I'm Chresanto, I'm as new as you so..."

"That's swell, well okay I guess this is where I tell you off." Indie said more to herself than to anyone else." Erm don't do that again, I've only been here a day and I'm not tryna get fired."

There was an awkward silence before the two laughed.

" Do you mind telling me the reason why you did it ?"

Chresanto thought he could trust her and he was rarely wrong so he went ahead with it.

"So there this kid, Jacob and he has schi- he hears things. I didn't go to class cause... Well just cause' and I found him crying. I comforted him and found out he's a pretty cool dude. When Mr whatever his name is caught us I didn't want him to get into trouble so I lied ." Chresanto blushed and felt butterflies in his stomach even talking of Jacob .

"Aww that's real sweet Chresanto, just don't do it again. It's your first day and your already building a bad reputation. I won't tell on you but this better be the last time you do this sort of thing." She didn't show it but indies heart warmed up knowing even though he has a mental illness, there's someone there to look out for him.

"Yes ma'am"

Just the the bell went for break. The two new aquaintenses said goodbye and Chres left the room.

He slid down the door into a sitting position whole Jacob sat in the back of the library both thinking the same thing.
