leo was my first patient after i qualified.
i didn't know what to expect, but i think maybe i thought he'd be a bit like you.
i couldn't have been more wrong.
i spent the last four years at college; studying to become a professional
and yet they never told me that people with depression have the best sense of humour.
sometimes i had to try not to laugh
in sessions
that were supposed to be serious.
sometimes he delighted in it.
sometimes we didn't talk about his life at all.
sometimes we had long conversations about anything and everything
and it taught me that sometimes
people can be healed by just living.
sometimes,
they can heal together.
