i didn't see you
for three days after that;
long enough to feel sorry
that i hadn't talked
because I sort of missed
seeing you through the window
when I woke up each morning
because when you are curled up in your duvet
your hair falls across your face
and you remind me of the little boy
who was once my best friend.
but now you keep the curtains closed
to keep me out
and it makes me wonder
why you didn't before.
