We became official
when you held me up in the water
you asked me a favor
here I Was
thinking you were going to ask me
to have my family to stop 'shipping' us together.
I was surprised when you said
'I want you to be my girlfriend'
it was amusing
us in the cold water
deep enough that I couldn't touch bottom
your skin so warm on mine
I said 'are you sure? are you really sure?'
I smile at ur huff as you looked down at the water,
little lines of light struggling to penetrate through to the bottom of it.
You looked back to me with a heart melting expression
'you make me happy' you said. 'I'm sure'
so I told you 'duh'
because I would have choked on the word yes.
