Girlfriend?!?

Fouette, fouette, chaine, peque. Have to get this right.  Sweat ran down my face and I panted. I fell to the ground and the song was over. “Perfection!” Lisa said. I looked up. “Thanks,” “You’re definitely ready for the festival,” I smiled.

“You’re done for the day. Take tomorrow off. Your feet look a bit purple. Put some ice on them,” She said. I nodded and thanked her. I got changed into a tank top and high waisted shorts with flip flops. I left the studio and got into my car. I drove through StarBucks and got a frappacino. I sipped it as I sang along to my CD.

“That’s what makes you beautiful!” I sang loudly as the wind whipped through the window. I decided I would go for a little drive to the beach. I cruised down the sunny street and parked a block from the boardwalk. There was never any parking near it. I walked down the street, slipping on my sunglasses.

I eyed some of the boys hanging near the snack bar. I smiled at them and they smiled back. I spied some cute jewelry so I went into the little stand. I was eyeing some cute bracelets when I spotted Kylie. She was walking down the boardwalk, with some blonde guy. She saw me and actually smiled and gave me a small wave. Wow, some people change. I smiled back.

This day was getting better and better.

I got a bracelet for half off and a pair of sandals for next to nothing. I was at pier area where people were watching the surf. I looked over the railing, watching the surfers shred the waves. I missed that.

Maybe I’ll go surfing tomorrow.

I headed toward the stairs to the beach when I heard a familiar laugh.

I turned to see Alex with a pretty brunette next to the ice cream stand. He was holding her hand. She must have been a model. Her face was gorgeous. Her legs were sticks and her shorts were super short.

“Alex?” I said and his head snapped in my direction. “Kiara,” He said, tasting the word slowly. I walked up to him.

“Uhm, who is this?” I said, looking at the brunette. “This is Nicole,” He said. “Nice to meet you,” Nicole held out her hand. I shook it quickly and looked at Alex.

“How do you two know each other?” “We model together,” He said, “For Abercrombie,” “And we’ve been going out for awhile now,” She said absentmindedly.

“What?!” I yelled, looking back at Alex. “You’ve been cheating on me?!”

“You have a girlfriend?!” Nicole screeched.

“No, we’re just friends,” He said to me, ignoring Nicole. He tried to take my hand. I stepped away from him.

“Just friends?!” Nicole yelled. He looked back at Nicole and panic came over his face. He knew he was in deep trouble now.

“Nicole, can I borrow that ice cream?” I said. “Of course, Kiara,” She said with a smirk. She handed it to me and I smashed it on Alex’s face.

“We’re through,” I said.

“So are we,” Nicole said.

We turned on our heels and high-fived. We walked down the beach and talked for a few minutes. We were both pretty hurt about it. We swapped numbers and went our separate ways.

It wasn’t until I got home that I let the tears spill. My boyfriend had cheated on me. For a long time. With a model. I sobbed into my pillow. “Honey, what’s wrong?” My mother sat down on the bed next to me.

“Alex was cheating on me,” I cried. “Oh honey,” She rubbed my back, “What a scum bag,” “I never thought those words would ever come out of your mouth,” I said with a laugh.

“Well he is,” She said. I put my face on the pillow as I cried. Why would he cheat on me? I was always such a good girlfriend. He was the one who wasn’t a good boyfriend. I frowned and looked up at my mom.

“Can we order some Chinese and watch A Walk To Remember?” I asked her. “Of course, honey,” She smiled, “I’ll go order it,” She left the room. I pulled out my phone and one by one, deleted every single picture of Alex and I together.

Then I went to  delete his number. I noticed the contact below it. Allie. I deleted Alex’s number and called Allie.

“Hello?” She said.

“Allie, hey,” I wiped my eye.

“KiKi?!” She said.

“Yeah, uhm, I know that we haven’t talked for the past year or so, but I was wondering if you wanted to come over,”

“What happened?!”

“Uhm, well, I just found out that Alex has been cheating on me. She’s a model he works with,” I said glumly.

“Oh my gosh! That jerk! I’ll be right over with the ice cream!” She said. “Thanks, Al. You’re the best,” I smiled. “I’ll see you in ten minutes!” She said then hung up.

Ten minutes later, just as she said, Allie knocked on my door. I opened the door and Allie pulled me into the tightest hug ever.

“I have missed you so much,” She said. “I missed you too,” A few tears welled in her eyes. “Nothing’s been the same without you,” She said. “Nothing’s been the same without you,”

“I brought ice cream, every Nicholas Sparks movie I own, pictures of Alex we can destroy, and a bunch of other fun stuff,” She dragged a huge bag in. I smiled. Allie was the best friend ever. We took the stuff to my room and sat on my comfy carpet.

“I brought twizzlers!” She exclaimed. “Yay!” I said. Twizzlers were my favorite candy. “So tell me everything,” She said. “Well,” I took a deep breath.

I told her about Alex and I’s relationship problems, him yelling at me, and finished with me finding out that he was cheating on me. Tears were running down my face by then.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” I said and Alli handed me a tissue. “I thought that I might have loved him, but Cody just kept getting in the way,” I clamped my hand over my mouth. Allie looked at me in shock.

“You still love him, don’t you?”

“I don’t know, Allie,” I shook my head.

“He’s my brother and I love him, but how can you still love him after what he did to you? I didn’t talk to him for a month after that,”

“Love is a crazy thing, Allie. It doesn’t matter if I loved Alex or not, we’re done,” I sniffled.

“Awe, Kiara. There’s a guy out there who’s going to treat you like a princess, you just haven’t found him yet,” She pulled me into a hug.

Awe! I teared up a bit during that last part! Poor Kiara! I feel so bad for her! So what did Cody do that made Allie and Kiara so mad at him? Guess you'll find out soon!
