Water and Lightning [Juvia X Laxus]

Finally Home, Part 2

Juvia knocked on Laxus's door. After several minutes, he opened it. She automatically stepped forward, hugging him.
"Laxus! I missed you!" She exclaimed happily. He hugged her back, although, his hug back felt fake.
"Missed ya too." His voice came out monotone. She felt confused.
"W-Well, I got us dinner reservations." He nodded, with an unconvincing smile.
"Let's get going then."
The whole walk to the restaurant felt wrong to Juvia. His hands were cold, and as she held them, she felt like he didn't really want to be there. She tried talking to him, but he was always on his phone. They luckily got to the restaurant before she felt like crying. At least then he finally got off his phone. But throughout dinner, he didn't talk much. She caught him checking his phone several times.
"Laxus?" She finally opened her mouth half way through their main course.
"Hm?"
"Are you bored of me..?"
"No, I could never be bored of you." There it was...It sounded so hollow, so fake. She held back the prickles of tears hitting her eyes.
"O-Oh..."
