Fun Fair Flop
He takes you to a fun fair, you haven’t been for ages,
The first thing that he says to you is, hope you’ve brought your wages
He takes you on the dipper, says he likes the speed,
You tell him that you’re not too keen and make a drastic plead.
He tells you he’ll protect you, it’s silly to be scared,
You’re glad you’ve met a gentleman, at least he showed he cared.
The dipper starts to zoom, and then it takes a hill,
Your hero, seat mate, Mr tough, is feeling really ill.
He takes you to a dart board and points towards a teddy,
He says it’s yours before he starts, he’s won you it already.
He takes his darts and aims to win, but hits the bloke instead,
You swallow hard, then turn in vain, to wave goodbye to ted.
He buys a toffee apple, now things are looking bright,
Then he turns and says to you, I guess you’d like a bite?
The big wheels next upon his list, he likes to view the sights,
There’s nothing like a mid- air dangle, high above the lights.
You grab a carriage, jump in quickly, then it starts to swing,
You ask yourself, well is he scared? Or does he always sing?
It starts to move, you reach the top and then you shut your eyes,
You feel the churn, you feel the speed, you get a nice surprise.
He puts his arm around you, a cosy thing to do,
But really he’s just clinging on, if he falls, so do you!
The tunnel of love is your last chance to share a loving second,
But when you’ve got him in the boat, it’s nothing like you reckoned
He squeezes up against you, but doesn’t do much speaking,
Just whispers clearly in your ear, that his sides darn well leaking!
You see this as a blessing, you think it is a lark,
Until he asks you for a match because he hates the dark!
So you met another guy, who turned into a mop,
It’s fair to bet, that if he’s wet, you’ll have a fun fair flop!
