Betty and Veronica walked across the grass lawns to the metal table and join jughead and Archie.
"So boys, how are we this afternoon?" Veronica asked them.
"Although me and jughead are polar opposite egos, we got on great."
"Amazing to hear, right B?"
"Yeh sure, great!"
It was clear Veronica and Archie were dominating the conversation. Talking about stuff that Betty and jughead did not know about. It was like they were both third wheeling together. Betty and jughead exchanged a few looks like- please get me out of here. Jughead rolled his eyes and started mouthing and mocking them and Betty couldn't take it and she burst out laughing.
"What why are you laughing? What is so funny about Josies brother dying?" Archie said in a serious tone.
Betty shot jughead a look like- oh shit. "I'm so sorry I was just thinking about something funny."
"Good save." Jughead whispered.
"Your lucky I didn't snitch on you Juggie."
After Betty realised she has called him juggie. She blushed and jughead kindly smiled. "I am lucky thanks Betts."
They just looked at each other with butterflies in their stomachs. Then they were interrupted/joined by Toni and Kevin.
"Hey Toni, Kevin" Archie said whilst signalling them to sit down. Veronica, Archie, Kevin at one end of the table and Toni, jughead and Betty at the other. Soon Betty and Toni were in conversation as well as the other three and jughead realised, once again, he was left out. Little did he know Betty wasn't paying attention to a word Toni said, all she could think about was jughead.
