A Bottle of Emptiness

Her pale shoulder is tilted

She's disoriented

Sipping a bottle of emptiness

The way she falls asleep is unflattering

Crashing down to settle among the dust

She has overstayed

A passenger of the waves

No control

A tone of greyness wraps around her

Revelations slither through a young body

She ignores them

She wants to disappear into nightmares

Momentarily escape into muttered words

She tries to gulp down a tablespoon of enthusiasm

But her skepticism lingers

Footprints stop and stare

and then fade away into darkness
