Toby has been discharged from hospital. The man with the three teeth from The Association has picked us up and is driving us to the meeting. He has more experience of the Dark Side than Dad.
The Association are good people who want to help all things like me – reanimates.
They want to use 'I am Kirk' as a portal to speak with you directly. It would be a little nice if they would let Casey talk to you as well, but that will never be allowed. I'll pass you over to The Association now.
The Association:Firstly, we would like to say that this is still very much Kirk's story. The aim of our intermittent contribution is to give you better clarity of situation; insights that Kirk, with his limited emotional response and recall would be unable to give you.
The reason for our intervention now was alluded to in Kirk's last episode: Right turn. But, we'd like to inform you further of the Dark Sides H-Offensive.
The Dark Side informed the world's youngest Associate, Toby Evans, of their new offensive. They spoke to him via the life saving apparatus he was connected to while he recovered in hospital. As you know, Kirk's father was the second to receive the information through his navigational system (GPS.)
We now know they have been trialing their offensive for a year, and unfortunately it is proving so successful that it is now officially launched on an unsuspecting world.
In addition to the Hevilt (2/3 of a soul,) there is the Hellix, a hellish force that is the 1/3 of a soul, sucked from the Hevilt's host (e.g. Dale,) and returned to the re-animate when their status has been independently discovered by a second individual.
This causes tremendous pain to the loved ones of the reanimate. The 2/3 soul return gives the re-animate almost human emotional response, and the families struggle with the agony of recognising aspects of their deceased loved one, while having to attend to and deal with the horror of their re-animates feeding compulsions.
Recently, incidents of H-Offensive success have entered the public domain, highlighting the immensely real horror of the dark-Sides destructive power.
One case in point is that of the 'The Miami Zombie' (refer to the accompanying news report.) This reanimate was abandoned by his loved ones when they could no longer cope with the trauma caused by his 2/3 soul return, coupled with the extra evil the dark side continued to hurl at them. The resultant horror the abandoned reanimate inflicted on his victim, made global headlines. This is only one of many similar cases that have been recently reported.
At this juncture, The Association would like to highlight the difference between 'Zombie' and 'Reanimate.'
Zombies are fictitious creatures, created by writers and made popular in films such as Dawn of the Dead and games like Zombie Apocalypse etc. Reanimates are real: fact.
As human beings, it is in our nature to create fictions to hide the horror of facts. Just like the media blame human failing (drugs) for the Miami reanimates horrific attack, so we Associates blame human conditions to hide the fact of a reanimates true status. Many reanimates, like Kirk, live very successfully amongst us. But their existence is now seriously under threat from the H-offensive.
We will occasionally use 'I am Kirk' as a portal to communicate with you, because we need your help.
All you need to do is 'believe.' The power of belief is a huge force for good in our battle with the Dark-Side.
