Chapter 19 "Reasons"

"Jimin, shall we go now?" You asked, hoping that he would say yes.

"Umm why?"
"I uhh still haven't finished cutting my onions yet.."
"Oh okay, let me walk with you then.."

Thank goodness we left.

You both headed out of the mall.

"Soo.. I'm still having a hunch that you're jealous about Jungkook being with Yeonmi."
"I said no.."
"Oh please, it's so obvious already.."

You then sighed.

"Okay... but the reason that I have is that Yeonmi doesn't deserve Jungkook. I'm not really jealous, it's just that they don't go well together."

"Jinja? Why is that so?" He asked, curious.

"Yeonmi.. let's just say she doesn't appreaciate me." You said.

"Ohh. Want me to break them up?" He smirked.

"NONONO! If Jungkook loves her then let it be so. You can't hurry love."

"Well...okay.. but if you need any help you can just consult me okay?"

"Sure." You smiled then left.

The next day, Jungkook POV

As I walked in my classroom, I felt y/n glaring at me.

Why is she like this? She's been ignoring me for the past few days.

I don't... like it..

I sat down beside her and started clicking my pen non-stop and she got annoyed of it.

"Yah Jungkook, can you please stop that?!" She uttered.

"No. Not unless you tell me why you aren't talking to me anymore."

"Whatever.."

She decided to ignore me throughout the whole lesson.

As school finished, I overheard Nayun and Y/n again.

I know it's not a good idea to eavesdrop, but whatever.

"So y/n what do you wanr for your birthday tomorrow?"
"Hmm.. I don't know, haha.."

Their voices started trailing off.

Oh yeah. Her birthday is in tomorrow, aish, I almost forgot..

I hope that I get her something good.. I don't like a friend to ignore me all the time..

"KOOKIE BEAR~!"
"Oh um.. hello Yeonmi.."
"So oppa, wanna go out later together?" She smiled, elated.

"Oh.. sorry babe but I need to go gift shopping. For a friend." I replied.

Her expression saddened but nonetheless, she looked back at me with a faint smile.
"Do you need any help with gift shopping?" She asked.

I then paused for awhile.

"Actually.. no thanks. I already know what I have in mind."
"Oh okay .."

She then was called by one of her friends and left my side.

Mall, 5pm

I decided to bring along a hyung with me instead.

"Soo why are we here again?" Asked Jin hyung.

"I need to find a gift for a friend.."
"Where are we going to?"
"To a convinence store in the mall.. "

We headed to the convinence store and Jin hyung started gazing at the instant noodles while I headed over to the counter.

I picked up the gift and signalled Jin hyung to follow me.

He took one look at the gift and raised a brow. "Your friend smokes?"

I smiled. "No, she doesn't."

"Eh alright. Let's get home, I need to make us dinner," he proclaimed and I nodded.

Your POV

You're gaining a year older tomorrow and the thought of that made you sigh.

.. I need to practice. Again.

You turned on the music and started dancing.

You made sure you got every step right.

"Ugh, this is so hard.." you uttered, falling onto the floor.

The phone then rang.
"Yeobseyeo?"
"Hi y/n, it's Jungkoo---"

Before he finished his sentence, you inmediately declined the call.

"I don't wanna anything you have to say." You said, looking at your phone.

Your mother then came into the room. "Hello~ how's my birthday girl?"

"Uhh mom you know my birthday is tomorrow.." you stated.
"Soo... you still practising that dance?"

You nodded in reply.

"I have to do it, but I don't wanna."
"Why not?" She asked as she tilted her head a little.

"...I have my reasons, Eomma. It's a little something going on between me and my partner."

"What happened..?"

"Nothing."

You looked away, with devastation in your eyes.

I can't believe it..
