Tying my kunai bag to my thigh, I gesture for Yoru to approach me. Once the kitten is rubbing against my leg and purring, I pick her up and sit her on my shoulder. My new necklace is hidden beneath my new shirt, since I had to buy a whole new wardrobe since I have no idea where Hidan's been. Sasuke smirks as he watches me cradle the Uchiha prayer beads to my breasts, which I pretend not to notice, and takes my hand. Acting as nonchalant as I possibly can, I free my hand from his hold and pet the black kitten on my shoulder.

"Mew," she complains.

"Translate for those of us who don't speak cat?" Sasuke frowns.

"Oh, it's nothing important. She just doesn't like that I'm not wearing a kimono styled blouse anymore. Actually, I think Hidan did me a favour! These clothes are easier to move around in and they protect more skin than my old ones did!"

"Another plus, they don't have the blood fever germs on them."

I ignore him. Again.

Take the hint and leave.

"Actually..." I think outloud.

"What?"

"Meow," Yoru agrees.

"Sasuke-chan, you're coming back to the Hidden Leaf with Yoru and I," I smile.

"Chan?" his eye twitches.

"Tsunade-sama told me something that contradicts what we were both told as children. So come in, Sasuke-chan! Hurry it up or I'll go demon on you and carry your arse!" I strut off into the trees.

"What did she say?" Sasuke struggles to keep up to me.

"Chika, my mother, and Mikoto, your mother, had plans for us."

"Plans? Like to kill each other?"

"Mew!" Yoru hisses.

We take to the trees, deciding that privacy is a virtue. Sasuke also reminds me that walking around in plain sight when two sociopaths are after me is a bad idea. Explaining what our mothers had planned only makes the Uchiha smirk, bringing up the seemingly odd argument between the two of us.

"Which means you should marry me, right?"

"I have no conflict with extinguishing the Uchiha clan," I remind him with my eyes activated.

"You saved my life and I saved yours. I think we've made it clear that we don't want one another to die," Sasuke smirks.

I jump to a higher branch and the raven haired moron follows.

"You didn't save my life," I frown.

"Hidan would've killed you the moment you gave birth and raised the child to know hate," Sasuke's expression is stoic.

"You would not raise it much different," I remind him.

"With ninja like us, we wouldn't have to teach a child anything. They'd be born with the knowledge, and power."

"Power is all you love. It's shameful to keep some a mistress," I frown.

"I bedded you, not an ideal. Love is not something I was taught," Sasuke frowns.

"Mikoto and Itachi loved you with all of their being. Any of the women in the village would've given their soul for you to glance at them! Do not lie and say that you don't know love!"

I find my wrist snagged, pulling my body around so that it faces him with my back against the tree. Glaring into his onyx eyes, I bite back the death threats that the present me wants to curse and the bitter sobs that my younger self is heaving. When we younger, our rivalry was teasing and playful with our dads had a rivalry etched in blood. It seems that it's the fathers of our clans who fuel the hate whilst the mothers meant to nurture love.

Love....

"I refuse to marry someone such as you, with a void as black as my own," I hiss.

"Mine is much darker," he mutters and releases me.

Poor little Uchiha...

If he only knew the suffering of a demon and her host.
