Chapter five

Morgana's POV

Something wasn't right, I could feel it, I felt so peculiar!

My pace quickened as I made my way to the court physician, Gaius's chambers.

Should I tell him? Can I tell anyone? Gaius had always been there for me since a very young age, but somehow I feel as though the visions that haunt me at night are more than just dreams.

I mumbled a hello as Gaius looked up and smiled."Morgana, my lady what can I do for you?"

Tell him! Tell him.

it feels as though I'm at war with myself!

"My nightmares have returned..." I trail of, unable to speak.

"Oh my child, I've prepared another draught for you" he uttered as he handed over a vial of green fluid.

At that moment Merlin came bursting in, our eyes met for a second he seemed more flustered than I've ever seen him.

Quickly he snaps back into reality

"Gaius! we found someone while hunting...he needs help" Merlin croaks breathlessly.

Arthur strides in carrying a slender body, I put the potion to my lips as Gaius goes to examine him.

Suddenly my eyes flick up to catch a glimpse of the patient, no!

it can't be...

Do my eyes deceive me? it cannot be real! it can't!

I didn't realise how distressed I must have looked! I receive wary glances from Merlin.

"Morgana, are you okay?" he asks. He knows I'm not!

My voice makes some kind of a choking sound, and my whole body goes numb, I drop the vial

causing the shattering noise to echo across the chamber.

"Morgana?" three voices ask as one.

They get no response since I spiral, falling falling into a dark abyss.
