Dear Dallas,

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am a Soc. I never wanted to be one.
In fact, I still don't want to be one.

You know some Socs aren't like
what you described at all.
Greasers and Socs are both equal.

We might have more money, but
that doesn't make us
any better than you, Greasers are.

Plus, you don't know my parents.
My dad has this plan
for me and he's relying on me.

He wants me to go to Yale University.
He wants me to find a rich
young lad to marry.

He wants me to get married and then give birth to many kids.

But I don't want any of it.
I just have never gone behind his back with anything before.

It's nice of ya to think of a
way for me to get out of my house,
but I just can't.

Thursday should be good, and I
also get out of school at 3:15 p.m.
after track practice.

And yes, I do go to school with Pony at Will Rodgers High School.
I guess I'll see you Thursday then...

- V. C.
