"Kurt, pare, sigurado ka na ba d'yan?"

Napatigil naman si Kurt sa paglagok ng alak niya nang bigla siyang tinanong ng kaibigan niyang si Warren. Nasa isang club kasi silang dalawa dahil nagpasama ito sa kanya para maglalasing. Kakabreak lang kasi ni Warren sa girlfriend nito—na ang tanging dahilan ng paghihiwalay ng dalawa ay nang malaman ng kaibigan niyang two-timer pala ang gf nito.

 

That's why, he's here comforting his friend for the bullshits that happened.

 

"Malapit na kayong magthree months ni Santillan diba? Seryoso ka ba talaga sa kanya? Or are you doing this because of our bet?" alam niyang medyo lasing na ito. Mas maraming alak kasi ang nainom nito kaysa sa kanya.

 

Kurt paused for a moment. He knew what would be his answer. And he's very sure about it.

 

"I'm changing for good." He just said and finally gulped the beer he was holding.

"Star's doing good right now."

"Well, yes. Thanks to our employees. They're working efficiently." Sagot naman ni Kurt kay Ezekiel habang binabasa nito ang folder kung saan ang nilalaman nito ay ang sales at iba pang necessary reports ng Star International Incorporated. Nasa harapan ito ngayon ng office table niya habang seryosong binabasa ang folder.

Every month kasi bumibisita si Ezekiel sa Star. His silent business partner would always check on the Star's status. Pagkatapos, aalis agad ito at susunod na buwan na naman ito bibisita ulit. But he can't blame his partner, sa dami ba naman kasi ng mga kompanyang minamanage nito, aminado siyang  hindi na into masyadong na momonitor ang Star. But still, it was fine anyway. Kahit wala ito para tumulong, he can't still manage the whole company. Besides, he was still the sole owner of star.

Plus, the Star employees are always working effective kaya wala talaga siyang magiging problema.

Sinara na ni Ezekiel ang folder at tumingin sa kanya. He was just sitting opposite to him habang siya naman ay nasa harapan nito—specifically on his swivel chair.

Kurt noticed a smirk was formed on his partner's face. Naguluhan tuloy siya sa inasal nito. He felt it meant something bad and dirty. Well, for those years they have been business partner in Star, he would say Ezekiel would always play dirty in terms of business na walang pakialam kahit pagdurusa o paghihirap ng isang tao ang magiging kapalit.

He really doesn't know what's the goal of the guy, but one thing he just noticed, Ezekiel delos Reyes is really mysterious.

Nagkibit-balikat lang ito sa kanya, "Well, de Vera, naalala ko lang yung pinag-usapan natin noon. Yung tungkol kay Santillan." He noticed a sly grin was already forming into his face.

Kurt frowned in remembering it. "What's with it?"

Tumayo ito at nilapag into sa office table niya ang hawak-hawak nitong folder, "I heard that you got back together again. So, I want to congratulate you, you're now near in accomplishing our plan. Getting the SLG from her." He flashed him again a devilish grin.

"I hope na magiging successful ang plano natin, de Vera. I'll hope you'll do that as soon as possible." Delos Reyes's expression suddenly became serious. "Aalis na ako. At sana, gagawin mo talaga iyon." 

Pagkatapos ay naglakad na ito papunta sa pintuan pero nang binuksan nito ang pinto, Ezekiel stopped when he saw a very familiar woman.

Nagulat din naman si Alice nang buksan niya ang opisina ni Kurt, ibang lalake ang tumambad sa paningin niya.

"You're.. Alice Santillan, right?" anito ng lalakeng nakasalubong niya na tantiya niyang magkasing-edad lang din sila. Plus, he was in business suit.

Alice nodded her head hesitantly. Ngayon lang kasi niya nakita ito. "Ah, oo, ako nga." She answered simply.

The corporate guy just smiled at what she said then he spoke again, "Nice to see you personally but I have to go. I'll see you soon." Then the guy went out. Naguluhan naman si Alice sa sinabi into? I'll see you soon? Ni hindi nga niya ito kilala.

"Alice, babe!" tawag ni Kurt sa kanya nang mapansin siyang nakapasok na sa opisina nito.

Alice then smiled when she saw him as Kurt went near her to give her a peck on her lips. "W-Why are you here? Diba, dapat nagpapahinga ka ngayon? You'd overtimed yourself last night because  of work. Dapat hindi ka nagpunta pa rito." Kurt told her worriedly as she felt his arms around his waist, holding her.

Natawa naman si Alice sa sinabi nito. Sobra-sobra kasi ang pag-aalala nito sa kanya.

Alice just pinched his nose instead. "Dad, h'wag kang OA. Ikaw nga diyan ang laging stress kasi even Saturday, pumupunta ka rito." She replied as she playfully punched Kurt's hard chest. Alam kasi nitong nag-overtime siya kahapon—of course, ito ang nagsundo sa kanya sa opisina pagkatapos ng overtime para umuwi. Kurt fetched her because he was to worried for her safety.

Natawa naman ito sa ginawa niya then he smiled. "Okay, okay.. So.." hinaplos nito bigla ang mukha niya, "What are you doing here, babe? Well, if you're bored, don't worry, I have protection—"

Hindi nito natuloy sa pagsasalita ng hinampas niya ito sa balikat. "Bastos!" she laughed at his sudden naughtiness. Then she remembered her main reason why she went here.

"Buntis na si Monique!" she squealed the moment she said those words. Binalitaan kasi siya ng pinsan niyang si Nick tungkol sa pagbubuntis ng asawa nito and of course, she was very happy for him and at the same time excited.

"Mamaya, magshoshopping kami ni Monique sa mall for baby purposes. Nick would come too. Can you accompany me?"
