Chapter 1

I can't believe I ever trusted him. I should have known he would just end up stabbing me in the back. He couldn't be trusted from the beginning but I didn't listen. Why didn't I listen?

I should have been smarter than that. I mean its not like he's my mate! I haven't found him yet and thank goodness it isn't Ethan.

We'd met when we were younger and I was dumber and I'll probably regret the decision to go with him for the rest of my life. I just hope that my real mate will accept me and my flaws once I find him. Since I was almost 20, I should have found him by now except for the fact I've been hiding out with Ethan where no wolves would ever want to live. The city provided a safe haven for us, or so I thought. It also provided a lot of temptations that I never could have foreseen.

It was getting darker out and I probably should stop to stay somewhere tonight. It's a long drive back to Arcata, California.

I should have stayed with my pack and been a good wolf. I've probably shamed my family so much. And my father is the Alpha! My brother the next in line, and what am I? The runaway daughter. I'm the screw up. Every family has to have one I guess.

The pack might as well toss me back to Ethan. It would probably be less painful than the long, angry lecture my father will give me. At least I know one person who will welcome me back with open arms- Tasha. She's my best friend. She may not be a wolf, but she might as well be seeing as her mate is my brothers best friend, Liam.

As I got lost in thought I hadn't noticed how bad the roads were getting. The snow was pelting the front of my car even though it was too early in the year for there to be this much snow in, I think I was somewhere in Oregon. There weren't any other cars even close by that I knew of or could see so I drove quickly, hoping to get somewhere to stop quickly.

Suddenly four deer jumped out in front for my car. I screamed knowing that I was going to either swerve off the road or hit them all. And I couldn't do that to the poor deer.

I swerved off the road into a deep ditch. The car crashed into the tree and the last thing I remember is crashing through the windshield head on. After that, everything is dark.

Hey thanks for reading! So I started writing this when I was a lot younger and I promise it gets way better than this terrible first chapter. Like way better...

So for all those who actually read after this, you're the bomb!
