Chapter 21: Closer

Scully's POV

  Mulder and I walked into the the class. When we walked in, I saw Diana sitting at our table. I raised an eyebrow and looked over at Mulder. "Why is she sitting at our table?" I asked.

  Mulder looked down at me. "I'm not entirely sure." He replied.

  We walked over to our table. "Hi Fox." Dian said flirtatiously. She got up from her seat and looked at Mulder, completely ignoring me.

  Mulder looked down. "Please don't call me that." He mumbled.

  Diana ran her hand down Mulder's arm. Mulder pulled away slightly. "I was wondering if you're doing anything after school." Diana said.

  "Unfortunately I am. Scully wants me to show her around the city. She hasn't seen much of L.A." Mulder lied.

  Diana scoffed and looked down at me as if I were a rat. "Well, maybe I'll join you later. Where are you planning on going?"

  "We're not really sure. We're probably just going to play it by ear." I said, giving Diana a fake smile.

  She scowled at me. "Fine. I guess I'll just have to find your round the city then." Diana started to walk away.

  "Good luck with that." I mumbled.

  "What did you say to me?" Diana asked turning back around.

  "Nothing." I said defensively.

  Diana narrowed her eyes at me and walked back to original seat. I looked back at Mulder. "You're a surprisingly good liar. I never took you for a liar." I said with a grin.

  "Well, there's lot you don't know about me, Scully." Mulder said with a slightly smirk.

  "I can't decide whether being a good liar is a good thing or a bad thing."

  "I guess it depends on the situation."

  I chuckled lightly. "But I wasn't lying. I really do want to snow you around the city. Have you ever been to L.A. before?"

  "I went once when I was really it'll, but I don't remember anything."

  "Well, my mom told us last night that we're going to Disney Land this weekend because apparently we haven't been spending enough time as a family together. Do you want to come with us?"

  "I'll have to ask my parents, but I'm sure they'll be fine with it."

  Mulder nodded. "I'll tell my mom you're thinking about it."

  "Ok."

  Then the bell rand and class started.

After school (still Scully's POV...

  The final bell rang and school was out. I let out a sigh of relief. I walked out of class with Mulder. "So where are planning on taking me?" I asked.

  "Um, I think we should visit the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and if we have time, we'll just walk in the beach."

"Sounds fun. I called my parents earlier and they said that they're fine with me going out. They just want me to be home by 10 tonight."

"Ok. My mom left her car here, so we can ride in that. I'll drive."

"Sounds good. Should we leave now?"

"Yeah. I guess."

"What about Sam?"

"She's taking the bus home."
