A/N: Here's a OneShot that popped into my head yesterday and I needed to get out or I'd be thinking about it for it to go away. I didn't know what I wanted to do with the ending, so I'm leaving it to your imagination ^_~.

Adam glanced up at the board in front of him. Dang it. This stupid equation just won't work! He tried everything, added everything he could think of to make it work. It also didn't help that every time he thought of something it would fly out of his head because his boss would walk by and distract him.

Adam blinked rapidly and focused on the board again. The marker in his hand tapping on his chin as he glanced around the board.

        "Are you stuck, Adam?"

He quickly turned around at the voice and blinked. He growled internally at the man behind him. Garrett always did have the worst timing.

"Yes but I have it handled, Garrett."

He didn't see it, but he sensed when Garrett walked closer to him. He stopped when he reached his side and they both stared at the board. They stood there for some time before Garrett took a marker out of his pocket protector and marked something. He stepped back after he finished.

"You added another Hydrogen compound? What's that going to do except make..." Adam trailed off as he realized what he did. "You made it more stable. I was trying to figure it out. I mean, I added Oxygen because I thought that it would make it more stable. But then it turned it into a modified water compound and I didn't like it. I tried Zinc but that made it too Unstable."

Garrett nodded his head as Adam kept talking. They stood there a little longer, still staring at the board.

"I added the Hydrogen in that specific spot because that was where the compound was weakest. You've been staring at it for too long and needed fresh eyes."

Adam nodded his head in agreement.

"I guess I did. Haha. Thanks man."

They nodded their heads at each other and Garrett put his hand out for a handshake. He held it longer than necessary and Adam blushed. Crap.

Adam let go of Garrett's hand and turned away to his table. He had all the composites ready to test. Garrett walked over to where Adam stood.

"You're getting ready to put it together, right? Do you mind if I help? It's been paperwork this and paperwork that since I've been promoted. Actual experiments might help me out."

Adam glanced at Garrett and then leaned down until his eyes were level with the meniscus of the tube. He nodded his head and poured the clear liquid in carefully making sure that it was the exact measurement he needed. Garrett looked down at Adam's notes on the table. He made sure what needed to be done and went back to the refrigerator that held samples in it and pulled out the one Adam needed.

Adam stood up and added another compound to his liquid, making sure that it would match the one on the board. When the liquid was finished, they put the sample on the microscope and added a drop of the liquid to it. Adam saw that it had the desired result.

He jumped up and down and punched his fist through the air.

        "Finally! Woo!"

Garrett stood there and chuckled at him. Adam heard it and stilled, running his fingers through his short brown hair.

"Sorry, I got a little excited. I've been working on this for what seems like forever."
