"Of course I still love you. I never stopped loving you, Liz. I'm not the one that found someone else." Mayla snapped, frustration evident in her voice.
"You were the one distancing yourself, not me." Lizzie snapped back.
"Why, so you thought that meant to go run off with someone else?"
Lizzie was about to snap back, but instead turned away with a sigh, tears in her eyes, "You know what? I'm sorry, ok? I'm sorry for leaving you like I did. But now I see how stupid it was because it's always been you. You've always been the love of my life even when I was with other people, they were never you."
Mayla had been desperately trying to hold back her own tears, but was epically failing after hearing Lizzie's words. Tears were falling from her eyes as she turned back to Lizzie. They needed to finish this conversation before they did anything else, what needed to be said had been said. Now Mayla had the urge to just wrap her arms around Lizzie and kiss her.
So that's exactly what she did.
